I do know of a 500+BHP scoob round here where i live
and it does actually have 500+bhp, or it will when its back after its engine mods etc (was running 380bhp!)

Anyway, how will you cope with the boredom of just driving a car and not fixing it all the time!
If you really are serious though, the power difference on the road may be not as different between 430bhp saff and 300+ in a scooby.

Mike's a good guy and won't let me stray from the pack....lol. I'm not sure whether I COULD cope with not tinkering under the bonnet. To me thats what makes it fun. Since having my build I ain't had to lift the bonnet once!...

what about the car that was in the gallery(JUN car user called rexxy or somthing) a month or so back something like 600bhp???? fair enough he looks as though he spent a small fortune on it top car.

You're right of course, it is fun to tinker and I like to tinker with it rather a lot....
The difference is that having to fix it, as this is not that much fun, especially if it is an intermitant problem.
You must be a top tinkerer though to have built a reliable big BHP ford engine! Every time I see a turbo'd ford at a track day there's always a couple of spanner guys replacing something on it (except Mike R's car - which is quite good!).

The "Godfather" of engine building (SCS) is who built Mikes lump. He was the one who did mine!. I tried and failed badly!
It was running so bad that I had to take it to him but since then its run sooooo sweet and with 407 lb.ft it's quick too
.
All I have to do now is lift the bonnet and replace the oil....thats it!
oh, and polish all the alloy parts. I can't comment on the trax days as I've never been but I can well belive it!

If you're used to playing with 400lb/ft+ of torque, then don't bother with a scoob! 
Having said that, I was astonished at the speed of a WRX Sti V at Castle Coombe on Saturday. It was driven very well, demolished a set of tyres, but left also well driven Lotus Carlton and Cossie RS500 sucking on his wake.
I'd keep your engine, and stuff it into an RS200 kit-car. Nice.
