Volvo is definitely front wheel drive until the fronts slip and then some power is sent to the back.

Land Rover and Jeep have lockable diffs for off roading but not for on-road driving.

I am talking about 100% FULL TIME AWD cars.

Any others?

Not true, the skyline is RWD until the rear wheels loose grip - this is the BEST way IMHO There are controllers available to adjust the sensitivity or make the skyline full time RWD or AWD, but out of the factory the skyline is not fulltime AWD - helps cornering

Subaru use full time AWD, Porsche do on some models and so does Mitsubishi.

Audi does on some quatrro models but not the TT which is front wheel drive most of the time.

Is that it?

I thought the T5 was permanent AWD

 

My Thunder Tiger TS4N and my Traxxas T-maxx, although they are a bit small to sit in 1/10th scale Nitro cars.

Mitsubishi in the Evo obviously and in the GTO.

Porsche.

Lamborghini.

Jenson used it in the Interceptor FF. FF stands for Formula Furgesson as in the tractor people.

Audi.

VW.

Sierra XR4x4 and Sapphire Cosworth 4x4 are perm AWD. As is the Escort Cosworth and soon to apear (hopefully) the Cosworth Focus.

 

Skoda, Seat and VW all use front wheel drive part-time 4WD so they’re out.

So basically the list for FULL TIME (note FULL TIME) AWD is Subaru, Mitsubishi, Porsche (some models, Audi (some models) and Lamborghini (which uses Audi technology.

 

Nissan Sunny/Pulsar GTi-R is too I think.

 

I think the Porsche system only gives a max of 33% to the front when the rear starts to slip.

All the Jap weapons use full time 4WD (Impreza, Legacy, Evo, Skyline, GTIR, Celica GT-Four(!!!!!), 323, GTO, Galant etc...)
Delta Integrale and Audi Ur-Quattro used perm 4WD with Torsen Diffs.

New Audi's use perm 4WD if it's with the longitudinal engine.

Volvo, VW and transverse engine Audi's use part time 4WD with a Haldex rear diff which only bring the rears under drive when the front slips so crap.

All the Sierra/Escort 4WD's were permanent with a 34/66 rear distribution, apart from RS2000 4x4 and Mondeo 4x4 which were 50/50 perm I think.

Landrovers etc are permanent, just run free diffs most of the time.

the new x-type type jaguar uses full time awd.

 

In this country probably aimed at farmers in more remote regions that need 4WD in a cheap runabout.

Yep you are right, but its not been around that long... If you count range rover then they are all full time 4wd!

 

BMW used 4WD in one of there models in about 93

The BMW with 4 wheel drive had an x on the back badge, I think it was a 5 series (like 525x I think)

 

AFAIK, BMW and Merc have 4WD models in their current continental ranges. For example, the facelifted S Class is available as a 4-Matic. And, IIRC the 3 Series is available as 4WD too.

Also, am I mistaken, or don't Subaru offer FWD versions in Japan?

 

Freelander is full-time 4WD, well at least my parents TD4 is.

 

Subaru offers fwd versions of the Pleo in Japan.
