Question

Anyone tell me if they have fitted there own STi5/6 spoiler if they drilled extra holes along the boot lid or bonded it with resin?

Also do they come with 2 bolts either side to fit in the existing holes and have extra captive nuts moulded in for the bolts to screw into should you decide to drill holes along the boot lid?

Mega, I've just got mine, the only holes drilled in the spoiler are to attach the two pieces. I'm getting mine fixed by someone and intend requesting they drill to fit existing holes and use strong double sided pads like existing spoiler based on similarities in weight, I'll let you know the outcome.

I have just fitted an STi spoiler to my MY01, no holes needed to be drilled and it came with double sided sticky pads to help in it's attachment.

Question

Mark

I thought it shipped to be able to fit in the existing holes on the bootlid (i've got a high level my00 type)

Are you saying yours had no holes for bootlid mounting??

Mine had no holes, only the access ones for screwing the two parts together. Dave did ship mine unpainted, but I wouldn't have thought that would be the reason.
Maybe it's an aligning issue. I must say I was slightly confused, but I've got someone else spraying and fitting.
I also have the high mount.

Hi Mega
I fitted my STI5/6 spoiler 3 weeks ago and it had 10 screws that came with the spoiler for fixing it to the boot lid 4 of these fitted thruogh the original spoiler fixing holes the other 6 i marked and drilled the boot for fixing it down its as solid as a rock you would have to pull the boot off to get the spoiler off
well impressed with the quality of it

Thanks DR motor sport

Gary

My MRO V2 spoiler comes with fixing bolts moulded in and reinforced from behind. The two extra holes in the front that dont go right through the boot lid need to be drilled right through, but that is it. There is no need to have it fitted by a body shop, as it is moulded actualy on a boot lid and will fit first time.

Cheers Rob
