Please help me I need to know the best exhaust for my 93 WRX.I've been looking at, power flow, blitz, magnex, etc, I like to have a jap looking style but without, dents and holes which I've got now, I was looking at a full de-cat blitz nur spec R but what they don't tell you is the true details also needs to be tight to the body of the car as it is quite low.

thanks clint

clint, i have a full-decat Blitz nurspec, with a TSL (scoobysport style) down pipe, because Blitz dont do a down pipe for the impreza. my MY00 went from 226 - 258 with this mod - 14% bhp increase and the Blitz system is the best ya can buy IMHO albeit one of the most expensive. this setup is rather loud though

thanks peccy, can you recommend where you got it from and how much also did you have to get the down pipe separatly (scooby sport) as I've been told I've got to get it myself.
Good power gain that's what I needed to know.
thanks clint.

We have tested 17 exhausts systems over a short period on a UK97 and STI4 and have found both the Trust full system and HKS Super Dragger to give the best results in Torque and Turbo Pick Up.
Blitz also gave a very good result but the top 2 by a very small margin was Trust and HKS.
Lowest results was by Mongoose, Magnex and belive at or not Haywood and Scot!
Alot of people would disagree, but i have print outs to prove!

Where they back to back tests on the same car, on the same day??? Otherwise, the results arent really that conclusive.
Im not saying that some exhaust are much better than others,as I realy dont beleive there is that much difference. Where there is a difference, is that some are seriously overpriced.

the best exhaust from japan currently is TRUST's tr power evo II with the trust frontpipe.
it is fully decat and according to jap tuning houses (JUN)it outperforms anything else on the market today.
it is actually used in the jap N1 races which to me tells a lot.
fitting mine monday i ll keep u updated.

Of course, fitting 17 exhausts in one day would be a HUGE feat!
No, they where done over a week period.
And you would be suprised at the differences!
Some exhausts even LOST the car Power!
I have used Trust on both my cars and will not use any other. Quite rightly said that the Trust has been known world wide in certain race series to offer the best performance and unique sound than any other exhaust on the market today.
I can sell you if needed a complete Trust exhaust for a small sum of only £790.00 + Carridge if you are Interested.

i ran a MY99 UK Turbo on the rollers at John Nobles, she got 240.5bhp.

the only mods where a scoobymania backbox and a K&N panel filter.

not bad as she's ment to be 215 standard.

There must hundreds of subaru's out there with hayward&scott exhausts on are you trying to tell us there all crap. if you look on scooby net dyno tests you see there are cars on there with only hayward & scott manufactured exhaust & itg air filter getting as much as 267 bhp for a uk car.surely it all depends on the rollers & weather on that day

I am running a Blitz Nur Spec R system mated to a Hayward and Scott downpipe. Not the normal DP though which tapers to 2.5 inches at the center join, but 3 inches so that it mates perfectly to the Blitz. Apart from an old Apexi super AFC (the one with the ***** on) and an ITG panel filter, the engine is standard. After a service and dyno run, she belched out 275bhp/245lb torque. Bear in mind that the dyno was done at 24Celcius and you see that is pretty good for an old STI2
My power curve was also a lot better than the power curves on other STI2's that I have seen, but my peak torque is pretty high up the range, 5500RPM, but with far less drop off at the top.

Cheers,

Nick

Thats good for an STI2 mate Good choice of mods!
And not taking anything away from hayward and Scot they do make good exhausts, just not the best!
(Probably why there are so many for sale now!)

Well,
I am looking for a new mid section for the 98MY GT to replace the original one and to cope with the Magnex decat downpipe and Scoobysport backbox.

Need to be with racing cat not only to pass the MOT but to protect me from the checking which became very seriously this month here in Greece.

What do you suggest? APS is an option but are there any others?

Elias
