Someone told me this, an easy way to up the fuel pressure......is it bo**ocks???
Someone told me that they upped the fuel pressure on their car by compressing the fuel regulator a little.
Basically put a small socket on top of the regulator and put the regulator in a vice and compressed it slightly. (note, not compressing the whole unit)
I'm sure it's bo**ocks, but thought i would ask the question anyway.

It is one way of doing it
but get it wrong, and be prepared to buy a new one. Once done, there's no way of back tracking.
If you don't have the ability to re-map the fuelling, you could end up with a real mess.
If you're VERY careful, you will get away with it, but I'd check what you're doing with a fuel pressure gauge.

Thanks for your honest answer Mark.
Don't worry if i was to do it i would use a pressure guage, i was really just interested in knowing whether it was true or not.
Cheers

BTW, i will probably speak to you soon, as i am interested in an uprated fuel pump, cheers...Iain

It is possible to rise the fuel pressure by compressing the std. regulator, a customer of mine did this to his car and I could realy take much fuel away in the fuel map, to achieve the desired mixture.
It´s not my kind of thing, you better have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. As Bob already told: you definetly need an uprated fuel pump (Walbro), to get a higher fuel pressure as the std. pump hardly can reach the std. pressure.
