Pop to TSL, they have both in their office. See which one yuu like the look of. I understand they sound pretty similar.

I have the Scoobysport with straight through centre section.
I like it, had one on old scooby and put one straight on STI7 when i got it.
Has a nice sound and most of all it is not over the top, turns heads wherever I go and doesn't intrude to much inside the cabin.

Dave.

I went to TSL (they sell both) I chose the TSL as I thought IMO that it was better made and I also prefered the twin pipe against the dustbin type. You can get the TSL in both versions (app £310)
fitted, for a MY02. Very happy with it. Hope this helps.

They both sound very similiar, cost about the same and IMHO both built to the same high standard. I've got the TSL one by the way.

Hi mate
Just had a cat back system put on the STi 7 yesterday at TSL, If you like incredibly loud then go with the Firestorm -It really does growl (wakes the neighbours I bet). But if you want aggresive notes under acceleration, and a comfortable "To live with" sound on the motorway then go for the Rally spec. Low down grunt is probably a little earlier but not diminished at all, with the car pulling fab. Incidentally if you can, get the geometry done if you haven't already. My car honestly feels like a different animal!!
If the guys at TSL are listening in, thankyou for your help and courtesy, you have a return customer from me anyday. Calling soon regards the moulds.

Thanks Guys Arran

I'm sure you will be happy with either but remember the TSL 'Group N' back box is NOT mandrel bent which seems to be at odds with its performance asparations (and price)... hmmm.

When did a back box get bent? Thought that only happenned if I reversed into something? Isn't it the centre pipes, cos I couldn't see any bends in the box...

Look at the pipework between the box and centerpipe. A mandrel bend is one that retains its cross sectional area throughout a bend, hence no (or minimal) restriction to flow.

Thanks for that, the really short section with one bend in it. Well I don't have a problem with it, and I'm sure that there's very little in it. Lets be honest if some of the MODS placed on cars can only produce marginal gains then the lack of that will not make any difference in the scheme of things, unless of course you can show me it makes 50Bhp, or 50lb's torque difference, in which case I'll go straight back. But lets face it, most people change the box for the sound and very marginal improvements... Anyway makes a great sound!!

I agree, if your just changing the backbox for the sound and a marginal HP improvement then it doesn't really matter...

But if your end goal is power i don't think either the TSL or the SS backbox IMHO would cut it, considering the competition.

Defo worth getting the geometry checked/changed while your there, like you say... makes a big difference!

Thumbs up

If you live near TSL then get ready to ask the credit card company for some more breathing space on the card!

As everyone has said TSL have both backboxes on display in the show room. You can make your choice then.

The geometery setup on the car (any Impreza) makes the car so different.

I have visited the quite a few times now, I am picky when it comes to service and attitude.

I have never, after the first visit, hesitated to recommend them most highly.

(For those people that sent me the e-mails, I may be biased and for good reason but I certainly don't work for them and the suggestion is physically impossible!)
