Thumbs up

Was driving through New Malden in traffic with all my windows down, and I hear 'Subaru Impreza Turbo' being chanted. I look across the street and there's a six yr old (or so) kid bouncing up and down on a chair outside a cafe. I give it a couple of boots in neutral and exchange smiles with his mum.

Now this is what people should take notice of, the ability of a car to turn heads. My white PPP Scooby with spoilers/gold wheels/pops and bangs, does it all the time, especially the kids, hell, they have probably just raced it on PS2. My Caterham 7 always does it, old or young, out shines the Scooby by a mile. But BM's don't do it , TT'S don't do it, Elise's don't do it, even the Aston Vantage in front of me was ignored for my Caterham in Bowness,(which must have really p***ed the owner off). Whenever you get a bit downhearted about your resale value just take the car out and see the heads turn. Oh...clean it first.

Cool

At risk of repeating myself, if you think scoobies turn heads here, try taking yours into France, pref. a bit further than Calais.
Mine was photographed so many times, I lost count, had people out of shops and supermarkets to see it, and if one person said :"You 'av a very beautiful car", I must have heard it 50 times.
The best was when I was parked up in St Junien, nr Limoges, and an old guy in a 2cv was staring at it so much, he missed 2 complete changes of his red traffic light, to the very loud dismay of those behind him!!
Yep, they turn heads OK.

It is amazing how many kids know and love these cars. Owning one of loudest scoobs on here, the amount of attention I get is hilarious. In the car parks, you see kids pulling their parents over to her as you walk off. People looking at you most oddly when you walk off with her sitting there goin, 'bom, bom, bom, bom' with the turbo timer, then looking at her oddly when she shuts herself off. Myself and the Girlfreind love all of the attention .

Cheers,

Nick

Funny France was mentioned. I was at Calais parked up in Auchan and standing with a mate by his Golf. A rench bloke turns up in a Renault 4, parks, turns to go to Auchan then clocks the Scoob, he ends up with nose pushed up against the window looking over it. When he comes back from Auchan he comes back to the Scoob, admires it a bit more, I gave him the thumbs up and he carried on back to his car.

As I was going back to the Euro Tunnel I was popping and banging merrily. Got stopped at customs and they had a look over the car, a few questions later and I was on my way. Was only car stopped. Gave it little throttle away and Customs just stopped and watched.

Damn I love my Scoob.
