Hi, I always put "ordinary" unleaded in my MY97 car, now I have a MY00 and am considereing a Tec2 ECU upgrade. Will it be safe to use the same octain fuel in it? I am not bothered about losing a couple of BHP, but I dont want to risk harming the engine. Most of my driving is Aroad stuff, very little sustained high speed motorway work. Perhaps I could put Super UL in it for those few trips a year? I tried a tank of Optimax with the Tec1 I have in it now, and honestly it didnt seem any different from standard unleaded, just more expensive!
