Work costs more than advertised.
Just been reading through the back of evo magazine when I noticed a garage in the North West offering the following.
"Various sports and lowering spring kits £105.00"
"Labour to check/reset front & rear wheel alignment and camber to fastroad/trackday spec £90.00"
So I thought £195.00 for some springs and geom setup. However, when I rang up the cost to carry out this work was £350.00! Am I missing something here?

I don't fully understand how you set up geom, but wouldn't some of the geom work have had to be done when the new springs were fitted anyway. i.e. if they chage for fitting the springs shouldn't they knock something off the geom setup charge? Or doesn't it work that way at all?
Er no,
You would be buying the springs then if you required would have them fitted. At this point you could just drive it home.
You could also arrive there and have a geometery alignment, leave and go home.
They are seperate jobs.
However, you would be well recommened to have the springs fitted and then have an alignment anyway.
Cheers

the geometry would need doing, because the struts would have to be taken off and the camber bolts would need resetting when its all bolted up again, i made this mistake when changing my suspension, undid the bolts for the hub to strut and found they were adjustable camber bolts, so had to have it all set up again

They might not be able to do the alignment though, but ask them anyway!
