What parts to buy for a MY01 Turbo

Planning to get a new WRX for the 1st of Sept, , and I am needing some advice, here goes.

Twin headlights, seen two kinds is their anymore out there?
Dump valves, loud or a nice sound?
Front grilles, anyone seen a nice one?
Induction Kit or panel filter?
Should i go for the upgraded brakes or stick with standards, i won't be using it for track days.

Morettes or a la UK300 Style. Personal choice but I understand that the UK300 style can not be colour coded as the have a gloss shell finish, and they will not be available until September and will be more expensive than the Morette's c.£500? If you go for the Morettes make sure you get the ones with height adjustment. Morettes are cheaper from the likes of Scoobysport rather than the dealer network. Morettes can also be fitted with a HID option for another £300 or so.

Dump valves - waste of money IMHO.

Subaru sport grille is nice - ask Mr or Mrs T-S.

Induction kit/panel filter - waste of money IMHO.

Brakes - Stick with standard until they wear out. They may well be fine if you are not going on the track. Once worn you could invest in better pads/discs if you felt it necessary, but IMHO the OEM 4 pot caliper is not that bad really.

Spend your dosh on exhaust system tweaks or a decent ICE set up.

tonybooth :- I just ordered the morettes from scoobysport for £295 plus vat.....are they the correct ones to go for ? or have I made a mistake ? My dealer is going to paint/fit them as its on a new car for delivery 1st Sept like VKL723.....in fact VKL723 what colour your getting ? mines a Blue Black Mica!

the standard brakes are fine... no need changing them for normal use.

First of all
Get Armourfend on the whole of the front end from day 1 , that will mean you still have some paint on the car for its 7500 service.

Exhaust / yes all of it makes an amazing diff..
Brakes are poor for fast road use 3 - 4 heavy loads and they are gone !!
Morrettes look sooo much better and work well to.
Front grill and lip spoier essential( well not essential but looks far better)
Order 6 pots of touch up paint for the parts of the car that do not have Armourfend.
Use 97 ron only and 99 ron is you can makes it fly.
18" Oz or Techno's makes turn in and feed back 3 x better.
replace the tacky silver interior bits with some black or Carbon kit.
ICE is required very quickly , the standard unit and speakers are ^%^*(:

They can be painted, oakley garage (my local dealer) did this with 2 of the 3 uk300's they sold. And it makes them look a lot better too.

After being in/seeing Dave T-S and Carolyn T-S's MY01's, I think you need at least:

Morrette's with colour coded surrounds (Scoobysport or soon from Subaru dealers also)
Full Scoobysport Exhaust system
18" Wheels
Lowered Suspension (to get rid of the Forester look ) (Leda seems popular)
Scoobysport Rear Wing
Subaru Front Lip Spoiler

Visual,

Excuse my ignorance, but what's amourfend? Does this protect the paint work? What's it cost? I've got a MY01 and no real paint damage yet, but sounds like I will have shortly.

Thanks for the advice, what I was looking for was something abit different for the headlights if nothing is outthere I will opt for the Morettes.

It will be either Silver or Black/Blue Mica, have'nt decided yet

Thanks for the post tonybooth I feel better now!

About the discussion on armourfend...I know it protects the paint work but it looks really horrible...personally I'd rather have the whole front resprayed than wrap my car up in horrible looking plastic! anyone thinking about it...make sure you see a car in the flesh with it on before you decide its worth it!
