Oi! how dare you post a link to one of MY threads without asking me first

On a more serious note. TDI seem to be very good, though all I've used them for so far is ordering a HKS powerflow filter. But they were cheap, quick and friendly to deal with. Will certainly use them again.

Just been looking at them, my mate is just getting a supra and they quite a lot for them, he just found the labour rates today though £56+VAT per hour and £70 or £73 +VAT per hour for Rolling Road. Just a little on the expensive side!!!!

Question

May or may not be true, but I am sure some very well respected members of the BBS avoid or have avioded TDi in the past.

Not sure why but they were adamant that they would not go their again!

Unhappy

About 21/2 years ago my son took his Sapphire Cossie to them for a rolling road diagnosis (misfire) and he found them totally unsatisfactory. They took the car away, ran it up, brought it back saying "its ok, we`ve put a bottle of injector cleaner into the tank" No power read out and no quote of power/torque. WE finally cured the misfire by replacing plug leads, dist. cap and rotor arm. They should have picked up on any such problem with diagnotic equipment.
A consequent trip to Power Engineering was a whole different experience.
Perhaps this was an isolated experience and of course was well over two years ago.

I have not been able to fault them is over 12 year of using them.

They built my Opel about 12 years ago which went like a rocket, & various other cars of mine, including so work just recently on my Scooby WRX.

Speak to Mark Catchpole he's the owner & a nice bloke as well.

If you are worried why not just go down there to see them to discuss your car conserns etc, as will all things like this ask them for references if you are still frightened.

Barge a happy TDI customer.

They ripped me off big time and gave me appalling after care(They charged me £80 to fit an exhaust that I already paid £650 to buy. When I had a strange noise comig from the engine soon after they refused to even discuss the possibilities until I paid them £70 an hour to have a look.Scoobysport charge £20 to fit an exhaust and cured my problem over the phone!!)

3 years ago I took my 97 turbo to them. They fitted an HKS back box and a bypass chip and HKS induction kit and whatever as I`m not mechanically minded.
I ran the car flat out always on Super for 50000 miles and it never missed a beat.
The only dodgy bit was you wernt allowed into the workshop to see what was happening to your motor and they seemed very cagey all the time.
Would I use em again...........probably not.
Hope this FAIR assesment helps

I think they recently had a change of personel.

A year ago, I bought an HKS filter from them and thought the service was c**p.

Recently I bought an HKS EVC IV from them. Service was 150% better. I fitted it myself, and when I had problems setting it up, one of the guys came out in the car with me and initialised it for me free of charge Its run superbly ever since.

Also, they had a Supra in the workshop that was being rewired after a smack had caused short curcuiting. I had a good nose over it and they didnt bat an eyelid. The mechanic working on it (same guy who set up my EVC) was more than happy to talk about the work they were doing. Also had a good look at one of their Scoobies that was chock full of HKS goodies

Nate was the sales chap I dealt with, I believe he might even post on this board... Cant remember the name of the mechanic.

Can't comment on their tuning expertise as I've only bought bolt-ons from them. The service has seen a huge improvement though.

Would I go back? Definately!

James.
