Been running for a while now on the tightened actuator rod and no probs at all - car has been running like a dream. On the Alton Towers run on Sat I had no issues at all, boost was doing exactly what it should for 150 miles of very heavy driving - first real test really.

Came home last night and sat on the M1 for agggggggeeeesss (major tailbacks) and then hit the quiet M25 at about 12:15am. Was pretty chilly and damp in the air.

In 5th (and only in fifth) cruising at about 80mph, floor the accelerator and gauge shoots round to 1.4 then down to 1.1 returning to 1.2 where it is then held as long as I keep my foot down. 1.2 is what it should be getting/holding. Did this every time in 5th, 80mph, from cruise to floored pedal.
Didn't hold 1.4, just peaked at it by the looks (previously highest I'd seen was 1.3 or just under).

Now - is this something I need to sort with a restrictor - eg to keep the peak down and thus the compensation of it going to 1.1 before going back up to 1.2?

Nows thats overboost.........

Think it would be the ECU adjusting the boost down by its maximum of 3 Psi then coming back to held.....

Duty cycle remapped down or restrictor change.....

lol - 1.4 = 19.9 PSi - lmao!!!

BTW - forgot to say - figs are kg/cm, not bar.

Standard restrictor in there at the mo MY99. What would I need to put in to cure it - or where in the map do I change it - Merv told me to go back so he could get it on the rollers and DD to make sure all ok - perhaps he could do a slight tweak of the map whilst there............

Slacken the actuator by half turns until it doesn't do it anymore. Boost spikes risk detonation which the ECU seems to ignore from what I have seen, so don't let it happen.

So the restrictor or ecu tweak won't do any good? It does seem to be doing a very similar thing to J's....... and its got to go back to Merv anyway.....

If I turn it back a half - am I still likely to be achieving the same sort of boost, or will it drop?

Raising the ECU boost target is the only way you won't lose performance.
