Hi,

Im sure ive seen someone on here mention that they had the header tank off a MY97> car on there older type engine...

Ive got a MY95 WRX and have had the header tank leak again and am thinking of putting the newer shape one on so i dont keep getting this problem....

Any pics and how to would be great...!!!!

Are there the same number of pipes going to the newer header tank than on the old one from the 93-96 scoobs....

Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan,
The later metal header tank has the same number of pipes so no problem there . I fitted one to my 94WRX without too many problems. You'll need to make an adapter bracket to fit it though as on my car the header tank had to fitted slightly further forward from it's origional position . Can't help you with any pictures though . Sorry .

Hope this helps .

John

Hi Dan

Is this what you are after?
The car is a 94WRX with a later header tank - I made the bracket out of some ally plate.

Cheers
S
PS Hi John hows it going.

The only hoses which need to be longer are the two on the top. The other hoses will be fine so long as you make the bracket to the right size.

When you get a tank it might be an idea to ask if they will leave the top hoses on. On the later impreza they are a fair bit longer.

Cheers

cheers...!!!

I can sort out the other hoses but was unsure about the main one from the turbo.....

Dont want to be cheeky but how big was the adapter you made.... i.e dimensions... if you have to take it off to measure it then it doesnt matter mate.... just want to get it right so my original hose will fit...

I got the full samco coolant kit for the MY 94 WRX the only hoses I had to change were the 2 on the top which are connected to the rad (and these are not included in the kit anyway).

I havent had chance to take a look at the bracket yet (its still raining)

Cheers
