Question

when i floor it in 4th or 5th my boost peaks at about 1.3 then drops to 0.6 then peaks then drops then peaks... then eventaully holds at 1 Bar.

only really noticed this since i had my boost guage fitted, although you can feel it too without looking at the guage.

what might the problem be or is this normal?

cheers, peccy. MY00 Turbo 2000 (full-decat)

Major boost spike, followed by over compensation by the ECU, leading to boost oscillation.

I am sure Mr Banks will be able to point you in the right direction.

Agree with Paul. Top two culprits are overfilled oil and hence it gets in the solenoid or restrictor, or your restrictor is too small for the breathing you have.

So check your oil level, clean out the restrictor and the solenoid with brake cleaner - there have been instructions in Drivetrain recently and search now works. If that fails then search on restrictors - 1.3mm would sort you out probably (it starts at 1.2mm).
