Question

I have been quoted today £95 each for 205 / 40 /17s

Now this seems a bit high priced for a so called budget tyre to me but I would like your input all the same with regards to the price.

Budget tyre? Where d'you get that from? I thought the T1-S was a performance tyre, not a budget tyre. Price seems right, if it includes valves, balancing, etc. Eagle F1 are about the same price too. I've got the Toyo - so far, so good.

Scoobyworld do 215/40/17 tyre for £78.75 inc VAT and sent to your door for FREE. Obviously you still have to get these fitted but I think you can get them cheaper than £95 each.

£100 each seems to be the going rate for 215/40/17 Toyo T1,s up here in Aberdeenshire.

Motorsport Wheels in Leeds fitted 4 215/40/17's to mine for £305. Not a one off offer price either.

Edited to say i just checked the receipt. £65 each + vat.

Toyos Proxes are a good wet weather tyre, nothing more and nothing less.

they aren't bad in the dry either ! In fact they're meant to be nearly as good as the Bridgestone S02's which makes them better than average at least.

In the wet they are v.good I agree, I nearly drive as quick as I do in the dry with them ! Very impressive. And cheaper than the S02s as well.

thought I'd put my 5ps worth in ! cheers,
