Question

I have been running my scoob since last November and on occasions I have noticed the clutch pedal being a bit slow to come back up, or a couple of times stay half way down until acceleration is eased. It only happens during a quick down change/hard acceleration (usually going from 4 to 3 for an overtake). It doesn't seem to get any worse. Anybody else had this or is it trying to tell me something - like get your credit card out? It's a 94 WRX.
Any answers, advice, appreciated. Sam.

Check the clutch actuator arm return spring under the intercooler, if it's weak or fallen off, this will happen.

If the clutch Master cylinder seals are worn, this can sometimes cause a sticky pedal. A general sign of wear is the travel of the pedal does not feel smooth, slightly grabby Etc.

I have a similar thing ...

when I brake hard, say 70 -> 40/30 and depress the clutch to downshift at the same time, everything seems ok...but as I release the clutch it seems odd - in that ALL the pressure is off the pedal in a few inches of movement.

Press the pedal again and it's the same - until you release the brake !

anyone had the same?

Steve
