Just fitted the downpipe I collected last week from SS.

Well, what can I say... Had a scoob now for 5 years and should have definatley done this mod before!! Much improved mid range and throttle response, oh, nearly forgot, the noise isn't bad either.

For anyone contemplating it, fitting it yourself is not difficult at all. The worst thing for me was locating and undoing all the sheilding bolts. Took Petes advive and bought a 14mm ractchet spanner from Halfords. Would reccommend anyone to get the 10mm as well for the sheild bolts.

Cheers pete.

Got a Magnex twin dump downpipe and centre section on my P1 and a Prodrive P1 backbox, great performance gains and like you said the noise isn't bad either...

I did the full decat exahust thing on my P1 a couple of months ago. Went for the full HKS option with downpipe and HKS Hiper at the back. I've got no boost gauge but other than the performance increase no ill effects have been noticed, apart from the LOUD NOISE

Forgot to add that I did the whole change over myself. Took a few hours but I'm glad I did it.

Hi Steve,
now you know why Bob kept doing it to all his cars, I did it to mine, and have never looked back.

Question

Does the fitting of the DP require a new gasket on the turbo side ?

No overboost problems...so far - Fingers crossed

Gaskets - Used what was there. Was careful with the gasket that is between the downpipe and mid section as it's a softish type affair that needed prising off the original downpipe.

Needed to bend the bracket(forward) on the gearbox slightly to stop putting some rearward pressure on the exhaust. Other than that it was a doddle to fit just using a trolley jack on the front jacking point with an axle stand for safety. Took the strut brace and intercooler off to give better access.
