Default Key coding central locking issue

Hi guys

sorry if this has been covered before I had a look but the post seemed old and I can’t seem to find any of the people that still help with keys

I have a Hawkeye wrx I got it with 2 keys. First set worked great and worked the central locking. I’ve since misplaced them, the spares work in the ignition but not the central locking I’ve replaced barriers for new twice and still nothing.

I’ve been told mine is a eu import so the fobs or mhz is different

firstly do you think the central locking not working being a coding issue?

secondly where do I get another key made and coded to ignition and central locking

the code on the fob is coj12 serial number 00000

but as I say I’m not sure if this is the right one

any help guidance or points in the right direction would be great

If it's a euro import it would not have the Sigma Alarm fitted as standard, so will probably use the keyless entry ECU and the keys need to be programmed to it.

1. KEYLESS TRANSMITTER REGISTRATION

NOTE:

• A maximum of three keyless transmitters can be registered for each individual vehicle.

• When replacing or adding the keyless transmitter (key), registration for the immobilizer system is also necessary.

1. Remove the driver’s side sidesill cover (kick panel), and then connect the registration connector at the lower portion of front pillar.
The "registration connector" consists of two single pin white connectors which should be disconnected in normal use.

2. Push the door lock switch at driver’s side to UNLOCK, and then unlock the door lock.

3. To register, with the driver’s side door lock switch pressed to the UNLOCK side, press any button of the keyless transmitter twice.
To make a registration of additional 2nd and 3rd keyless transmitters, press the button of each keyless transmitter twice with the driver’s side door lock switch pressed to unlock side.

4. Door lock automatically operates LOCK and UNLOCK in order. This indicates that registration of the keyless transmitter is completed.

5. After all registration is completed, disconnect the registration connector. Check the door lock operation with the newly registered keyless transmitter, and then install the driver’s side sidesill cover.

Thank you I’ll give it a go.

Is that just to make the fob work the central locking?

any ideas where to get another key? Most places I’ve spoken too just have uk fobs/keys but this is a different frequency so I’ve been told

AFAIK UK/European models use the same frequencies, JDM is different.

Can you clarify what you mean when you state. " I got it with 2 keys. First "SET" worked...."

Normally if a euro import, you would have a 2 button key and nothing else. (UK car has a single button key designed to operate the Sigma Alarm fitted).

If yours subsequently had an alarm fitted you may have an additional fob to operate the alarm which possibly now controls the cental locking.

Explain in more detail what you have.

Sorry ill Try explain a bit better

when I got it I had 2 keys, both keys had integrated Subaru 2 button central locking fobs.

the first key worked perfectly. Worked central locking and ignition. I have lost/misplaced this

the other key I got is still a genuine Subaru 2 button central locking fob and looks like it has the key blade glued in. This works with ignition but not central locking.

the issue is no one can seem to tell me what I need to get a spare key ans fob that works. I’ve reached out to guys that do keys and fobs and all have said they don’t have anything that will work.

I have Been told I need part number 57497ae120 but I’ve tried to find more info on this but I can’t seem to find much About it

essentially I want 2 working keys and 2 working fobs essentially

thanks for the help I have been trying to look into this for months and keep getting told differently

Ahh, OK was thinking the key and fob were separate items.
If your spare key when put in the ignition starts the engine and lets it run then it's transponder chip is working with the ECU/ Immobiliser ECU.
If the buttons on the key do not open/lock the car then either the battery, pcb or buttons have failed or it needs programming to the car as previously posted.
PM me the Applied Model Code and VIN from the VIN plate as there are 3 Keys listed for RHD Hawkeye models (The one you mentioned above being for Australian models)
