Default Blob Sti clutch change

Hi all,

Driving home today and in 3rd/ 4th gear when hitting 1.4/1.5 bar the clutch started to slip!!!

So just starting to get planning for a clutch change.

Can I just check, does the down pipe need to be removed or just the centre pipes?

I am planning to fit the following:

Competition Clutch Stage 2
Competition Clutch 6.9 kg flywheel
Also upgrade the gear change linkage bushes

Anything else worth doing while the box off. Or do you recommend a different clutch / flywheel?

Thank you all in advance for any advice.

Adrian

Have you had a Competition clutch before? Personally not a fan and speaking to Matty @ MB Developments shared a similar sentiment. I am now looking at an Exedy and STI fly combo but depends on your power level and spec.

If needs be oil separator plate while its exposed.

Im on act hd and 7.1kg fly rated to 522 lb/ft ,just mapped a car on meth 529/490 and it holds well.
It's ok after 1500miles ,no judger etc but it was pig to move from 1st gear, even now needs some revs due to lightweight flywheel.
Think oem fly will suit better daily car but I wished to try something different.
Had exedy pink fitted by scoobyworx and heated it,judger till it's end and lasted 3y on 265 horses car.

Exedy 'pink' is what we would generally supply / and or install until higher power levels...........6spd version is very capable IMO
