As title.

These are to fit the AP Racing CP5570 calliper. Annoyingly (and without me realising when I placed the order) they don't come with any drilled holes in the backing plates for the callipers' retaining pins!! Grrr.

Is it unsafe to fit them without the retaining pins in place? I'm guessing so, as the pads could become dislodged? Or is that not a likely scenario, regardless?

Appreciate any input from 'real-world' experience.

not that it makes much difference as being a race type of caliper it doesn't use any pad pin as such but a spring plate and 2x over centre bolts to retain it

 

Ah, so the 2x bolts sit directly over the top of the backing plate, keeping the pads in place. And NOT through any holes in the plate?

For future reference, how much for a set of DS2500s for the CP5570 calliper? And, what's the cheapest pad you do for the same calliper?

Or shall I ring?

 

we don't do 'cheap'..............

most cost effective is probably the PFC Z-rated option / Ferodo prices have risen massively over the last 12-18months
always deals on and generally more competitive than most but can't post prices on here for obvs reasons

Yeah, I almost fell off the sofa when I saw that the DS2500 was around £350!!

 

PFC are likely less than half that!! and our Ferodo price would be less also.............

just for info the actual RRP of the ds2500 is near £400incl. VAT

 

ds2500 costs 175 quid for cp7040 cp9040 caliper, why so expensive for cp5570 calipers?
ds2500 are crap tbh ,think will try project mu or again pagid rs29 as ebc RPX are to aggresive for alloys

 

I went for EBC RP-1.

Don't normally go for track pads.... But price was a factor.

 

ds2500 are good IF used within their spec but generally have a poor temp ability which means they do suffer in more aggressive use
as for pricing no idea at the STi Brembo front pad also RRP's at circa £335incl. VAT.........
just for reference the 7040 front pad RRP's at £192inc. these days

all available at reduced deals

 

That's why I like them* -- perfectly fine for the occasional fast-road blat lol

They're the 'Honda CBR600' of brake pads lol

ds2500 175 quid for me for cp9040 ,nothing to like on my side, terrible cold or hot bite and a lot of dust
