Installing white line heavy duty mounts
hi guys
I have installed the white line heavy duty rear arb mounts. Just wondering how tight the hex bolts need to be (holds arb to mount). It seems like you can’t get a lot of purchase on them and I am scared of chewing the hex thread.
Do they need to be super tight? Any tips on best tool to tighten up.
also I noticed the washers do not siit completely flat — seems to be a bit big and bend a little round shape of mount - do I need to have them completely flat?

Ok guys, I will have a look at them again.
I installed the mounts with the ribs facing the rear of the car - is that correct?
I think the washers were a little off, meaning that they tightened down not completely flat. I will undue and redo them again.
So hand tight is good enough for those brackets which hold the arb itself?

It states to point the strengthening rib towards rear of car.
Looks like this guides tells you to install strengthening rob towards rear of car - this contradicts whitelines instructions - off they come again then unless anyone confirmed the rib should face rear of car

I just called whiteline hq. The ribbed strength bar must face the front of car. They admitted their instructions previously gave out the incorrect info (hence my confusion when instructions said face forward).
May be a few folk on the forum have a busy weekend refitting their HD arb mounts

Arb strength ribs all facing front of car
Not quite as simple as that I’m afraid
I purchased mine in 2013 they are indeed marked left & right
however the holes don’t line up if turned around ..
so in saying that ... I can gather my evidence
& whiteline are liable
A cost of remove
B replace under manufacturing error
C compensation

Whiteline stated both mounts are identical. Its just that the ribs require to face front.
Just passing on the information but it is still very hazy!
If you place the mounts on the wrong side, with ribs facing forward, you will not be able to bolt down the bar. Words of Whiteline themselves

Sorry to jump on your thread, but this is typical of Whiteline; confusing and out of date instructions, links with varying degrees of striction, paint that peels and rusty steel, extraction tools missing, and now a bush failure within 9 months. This is my experience having spent £££s with them.

Is there a point to HD ARB mounts? mine appear original on my car and are 15 years old and still going strong. Is it just because they are pretty that people buy them or is there a purpose like they move the ARB to a slightly different position etc?
I fitted them to my FSTI as the standard mounts are well known to snap over time, especially when you introduce a slightly larger bar than standard. Otherwise as far as I know they retain the original positions.
