Honestly, I move away from my parents and come back for a weekend, and my sister's car and mine start fighting...

Bl dy alarm external proximity sensors keep setting each other off. Mine (Concept 40) chirps, followed by her car(Concept 50) doing it's 'errrk', then they just start playing chirp Tennis!

I've had to move mine out of the garage to stop them going off!

What are they playing at...

Its quite easy to do (if you've got the manual) to turn the proximity down. I personally hate them chirping when people are only standing in a queue near it.

With the 600, it's possible to disable the external zone of the prox sensor with the remote control: once set, push both the "headlight" and "unlock" button at the same time, and the indicators will flash 4 times. That's the external zone gone. Do it again, and another four flashes will confirm that the internal has gone too.

I don't know if it's possible with the 40 or 50x, as I just turned the external zone right down on the 40 that I had on a previous car...

Thanks peeps, I know it is possible to turn off or adjust the external proximity sensor, just haven't got the manual to hand (well till tuesday night at least).

I just thought the way the cars started bickering was amusing, just like my sister and I ...

I'd get it looked at- a friend of mines was doing similar.

Turns out the emitter had come loose and was on it's side. Basically the shape of the field was not how it should have been, so it kept going off when people were 10 ft away (but only in certain places round the car!)

At least, that's what they told him.
