Default Blobeye STI: Rev Limit?

I have searched on the forum and on google but I cannot find a definitive, reliable answer to this question:

What is the stock rev limit on a stock UK spec Blobeye STI?

Really?

I see so many people talking about 7600rpm, or even 7800rpm. Are these then tuned cars?

Yea

No point revving beyond 7k in a uk car

Stock turbo will be dead around 6500

JDM rev to 8k stock

Can be set to what you want in the map

Turbo is normally best on power up to around 6500 or so , i’m running a jdm it revs past 8000 but you end up shifting before then , 1 because it’s screaming the nuts off it and 2 it’s in the turbos better torque band before 8000

And depending on which version you will have a twinscroll, which needs some rev's :-)

Thought the benefit of twinscroll was early spool ?

They were on the JDM cars which rev higher so had best of both,

Earlier spool + higher redline

Early spool = earlier boost and a linear power delivery. My JDM WR Legacy is just epic when on song and pretty swift too :-)

Your best bet is stick the car on the rollers, and see where peak power is, this will give you a idea of where is the best place to change gear, if your power drops off after say 6200 rpm, you wont gain owt by staying in the same gear till 7300 rpm,
you want to change gear at the right point, not the rev limiter, the limiter is there to protect the engine from people over revving, it isnt an indicator of where to change gear.

Im talking about right at line on the quarter mile.

Can benefit you to stay in gear than add in 1 more change
