Anyone got an STi VII yet?
If so - why, if not why not?
I saw one today - looks good in the flesh - great colour, same as Pete Croneys, bright blue.
Dealer has one in stock - no takers; in the same period has sold 3 Evo VIIs which looks simply awful. The rear wing makes the STI V design look integrated!

Downpipe and some refined tuning methods (i.e. I learnt how to do mapping!) have made it a torque monster. Ride along on a huge wave of torque, rarely go over 6000rpm
Last PS day I had 264ft/lb (2nd or 3rd highest on the day) which has been significantly increased.
Thinking of better inlet cooling and hybrid turbo.

VF22 hybrid is a definite recommendation - speak to our old buddy!
I have a VF22 hybrid, but you know who has gone a little better.... as always. Difference compared to VF22 is substantial and worthwhile - just miss the low down power of the standard VF28!
Should be getting water injection finally fitted when...... someone gets back from their hols......
I was surprised at a UK car recently producing a lot of power with a front mounted intercooler - dont think I'll go that route - a bit pricey for the gain.

You think it looks good on the outside. You wanna try appreciating it from the best place - behind the wheel.
It's now well run in at nearly 3000 KM and it's had a serious mountain road blast that was hard enough to chew up the tyres. Since then it's really loosened up an makes noticeably more power.
Bad things: Crap rear visibility. Add this to black windows, bucket seats and tiny Tokyo parking spaces and you get to love the power steering!
Good things: The rest.
Don't know why I didn't buy one sooner.

PS. Yes the wagon exists but it's missing some nice toys like the Brembo brakes, sports ABS (has standard ABS), front LSD, aluminium front suspension arms. It runs something like 500 quid less than the sedan model here in Japan.
Most new style STi7s are sedan. To the extent that my dealer had some 400 blue STi sedans and 10 wagons in stock.

Nope, first scooby I'd been in. It's the only car of this calibre I've been in at all so I don't have much of a reference point.
