I am having some serious issues with my wiring, on my dial clust
my full beam warning light is constantly on
but when i use my full beam it flashes up the ( ! ) light
my handbrake warning light is ( P ) and i have 2 of them
obviously a short somewhere. Need to track the cables and find out where.
Would it have anything to do with the fact there is JDM stalks on the uk car ?
When i brought the car it had already reversed stalks, i payed no attention to the cluster warnings as i didn't use anything until i recently changed the plastic insert, Thanks Aaron

Could well be, sounds like they have been bodged on rather then properly moded to fit. Need to get an auto electrician in by the sound of it, not sure why you didn't get it sorted properly if there were warnings on the dash.
Although could be totaly unrelated and a short somewhere else.

there is not any warning lights, it just some of them are back to front, in regards to the attention lights ( ie, when you use full beam the blue warning comes up) well it doesn't its always on ( the attention blue light) when i use full beam it flashes up with the ( ! ) light instead.
When I take the hand break down them 2 ( P ) lights go off, ignore the colour of the lights I was hanging them to LEDs but obviously following the previous colours was useless because everything's back to front
But you do now, and have a issue with the indicator lights associated with the stalks from the wrong model car, so its the first place Id start, swap to parts that are correct for the car and sell the JDM ones if/when it is sorted,
not a dig just simplest place to start, rather then cutting and soldering to get things working . . .
You've put a v3sti carbon effect cover on your v3 UK clocks.
Aren't the warning lights in a different place? RPM and speedo on opposite sides etc.
you are correct rich, but i only used the plastic surround so whatever goes on behind that stays the same, literally is a piece of plastic, i know what your saying though instead of the wiring being different it may be a case of the instrument logos being in different position, that isn't the case.

yeah that is the last thing i want to do to be fair, not sure how simple it is to find a v3 sti uk stalk assembly with the steering wheel boss for my sti wheel? can you shed any light, i genuinely dont have a clue if you can take bits of the assy apart? Thanks Aaron

Surely this is not the first uk car in history to have JDM stalks? maybe that is the fault... maybe you are a genius, equally... maybe there is a wiring adapter i may need?, maybe there is something i need off of a JDM car, im not going to rush out and buy uk stalks when there may be a fix for this....
They are a strange breed are the classics mate.
Jdm came in versions for the STI's only. The UK came as MY97 etc then there are the jDM WRX(not sure what you call them lol) then you've got euro and U.S. And Aussie versions.
They're complicated at the best of times,so when you start adding jDM bits to a UK car then it's a real head *** lol.
Need to have a think about this one but I recon you should get some UK stalks and go from there? I can take a pic of my v3 sti clocks with the warning symbols lit if that would help? Not sure if it would tho? Lol

True.
Keep at it Arron, there must be a way around it? Just not sure how atm

Yeah if I have to bell out all the wiring and resolder then do be it, but if there is a adapter like there is for the speedo, to go from JDM to U.K. Must be a way top man cheers rich
Tim from jti(also a member on here) does loads of loom conversion stuff,he's an electronic genius by all accounts
Might be worth having a word with him?
I'm still trying to get my head around why you have two parking brake symbols lol
Electronics is defiantly not my strong point

Yeah either there is something on the instrument panel that has 2 lights or the hand break along with something else is now on the same switch line if you like, hmmmm I donno, maybe someone who knows will pop up

IIRC, the cut outs/icons for warning lights are part of the surround that you've fitted.
Ahhhhh man!! Cheers Micky that is of some help and i apologise Rich you was right mate ah I got well happy when I realised it was only that bit that needed replacing instead of the hole clocks. How do I go about this now?
No worries Aaron.
Be nice to see it sorted, maybe a way of putting the jdm clocks in there or as Micky suggested, put your UK cover back on(that would be too easy tho lol)

yeah i know i would really like them to work if im honest anyone know of a fix? and still got x2 ( P ) signs?
JDM cluster might be plug and play, I'm not sure. Got one here though, if needed.
Can't help with the issue of the two (P) symbols being lit, as they aren't present on the JDM panel originally fitted to my car, other than pull the bulbs.
I do know the hand brake light can illuminate if the brake fluid is low, or the float gets stuck, it might be something to do with that.
