Lightweight flywheel
Hi,
I need some opinions from you guys about changing the flywheel.
I am planning to put a new clutch in my car. Along with the clutch I want to switch to a lightweight flywheel. I have heard that with the lightweight flywheel the engine revs quicker and feels like the engine has more horsepower.
my question is that my car has already been mapped and if I switch to a lightweight flywheel will the car need to be mapped again? Or will the map on the car right now be ok??
Thank you
Amey

The flywheel that was removed was a STI group N set up, i had a 6 padel clutch and a lightened flywheel.

awesome!!! Thanks for the info Scott.. I thought that I will need a remap that's why I was in two minds whether to buy the lightweight flywheel or not.. But now I can buy the whole kit..
Is Rts brand good?

Im sure Alyn @ AS Performance sells these, whats your car and what power is it running?
my car is 2001 wrx bugeye.. I am running 273 horsepower but I am in eastafrica right now and the car was tuned by Duncan (race dynamix) to 93 Ron fuel as that's the fuel avaliable here.. I am preparing the car for rally purpose so I thought that the flywheel will be good to make the power delivery better.

Yeah Scott I know the fuel is s*** here the only other option I had here was av gas which is 100 Ron but it's got lead which I think will foul the valves and lambda sensors so I didn't go for it although the first time I got the car mapped it was 306 horsepower running on vpower it's a shame can't get that grade fuel here 😞
