Hi,
neeeeeewbie here, but lover & dreamer since 1995...
I'd like to buy a 5doors impreza...
I've got 2 "good" proposals :

- a GT (y00) 16000km old, first hand (?correct expression?)
- a brand new WRX 0km (with 3 years warranty, the ecu & the complete exhaust line...)

the difference is about 6100€

I have to choose NOW !!! (i'am hesiteting since 2 weeks !!!)

Pl-ea-se help' (my 5th element's crying !);-)

Hi Cat,

The WRX would be a safe bet to go with, but in my opinion if you want more performance go for the GT as it is lighter and could be easier to extract more power.

Cool

Cat

As ever, ask a Scoob owner which they prefer and it normally ends up with the type that they have!

Just for the record, I've an MY01 4 door.

To me, I decided that the MY01 was a better option for the following reasons;
  • I didn't want to buy a second hand car like this as the first owner would probably have thrashed it. How many people on here modify their cars, use them hard, then return them to standard before selling them?
  • The MY01 is heavier than the older model, but most of the extra weight has been used to stiffen the body structure resulting in better handling and less rattles.
  • The MY01 is easily tunable - remove the cats in the exhaust (which is by the sound of it what you are being offerred) and fit a boost cut raising device and the ECU gives you a decent map without the need to buy a PPP or an aftermarket ECU.
Still, it is a personal decision - drive both and see which one you prefer.
