Question

Would you please quote your mods & boost pressure & year of car, im only really concerned with figures for uk cars. I would like to know that there are others running 18psi or above with no problems.

My car:- my94 fully decat, phase 1 chip, blitz induction, dawes, now running @ 18 psi with no problems & it is amazing!!

Cheers.

Thumbs up

MY00, Link, VF24, HKS FMIC @ 1,3 bar - runs strong (and totally hassle-free) and it's used on track regularly - I love the car.

I'm even thinking of extracting more power out of it now that the fuel pump has been sorted...maybe a larger turbo...headers...then a wee bit of internal work, who knows?

Currently Running 15psi (an for now I'm happy)

I'm running on the theory that my Old Series 1 RS Turbo was running at 14psi/180BHP (Standard is 7psi/132BHP) and has done since 1994 without a Turbo or Engine rebuild.

I just hope my Scoob is as reliable.......

What do you think of the phase1 rechip (power delivery, torque etc.)? I'm running a MY96 with Revolution 3" system (no centre cat), Dawes & K&N panel filter at about 0.95 bar (exhaust was worth 0.1bar on its own). Considering the chip as my next step.

unfortunately (or fortunately really) the car had the phase 1 before i bought it so i cannot directly comment on the improvement.
My brother also has a my94 without phase 1 & has similar mods & actually got better results than myself @ powerstation running lower boost, although he says my car feels stronger & it does feel extrememly lively.

I know Mervyn at PE doesn't like the Dawes - he took pictures of me removing it from my car when I was fitting Tek 3 However, it might be worth asking him if your PE Phase 1 is setup to handle 18 PSI from the fuelling and timing point of view.

Wink

Im currently looking at the Apexi turbo from RC so if I get one, i'll definatley be seeing Mervyn for a bit of a tweak.
I've got an afr meter on the way so that i can monitor the fuelling, & im now running on optimax & a wee bit of NF so hopefully that should help if theres any timing issues.

Ive got a PPP my98 and I fitted a Dawes yesterday, before fitting the dawes I was running at about 14 psi ( standard ?? ) Ive increased to to 16 psi but caution is stopping my from going any higher.
The thing I have noticed is the power is so much more sudden than before, it realy is pulling well but I dont know if its just my imagination but it doesnt seem to want to rev as freely as before ? well not in 3rd and 4th but that could just be me.

Attu,

i noticed with the dawes that the power seems to come on more sudden, no problems with not revving freely though, revs cleanly to 7.5k (although i rarely go above 6k) its just awesome now!

Only problem is, you always want more!!!!!!!

1.5 bar

But I'm nuts and I don't care if I blow my engine I need an excuse to give the Mrs. why I need uprated pistons

I have also taken MANY precautions and spent a fair bit on mods, so don't try this at home.

MY99, standard turbo, Pace FMIC, Induction kit, full de-cat running 1.3bar (with a dodgy MAF).

MD.

Edited to say "oh and Prodrive ECU"
