Do you have the controller for it??
Check the wires that go into the little plugs as they can get pulled out over time.

Cool, also is the controller lighting up as it may be the inline fuse in the power wire.

Then either the wiring is wrong, or your controller is broken.
Need someone local to look, where abouts are you?

You haven't yet answered the question:

Do you have the controller fitted? https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=de...J&ved=0CCgQsAQ
The gauges do NOT work without it.

Do you possess a circuit-tester, or multimeter?

The usual problem with Defis is a poor earth, either the wire you thought was earth, isn't, or you chose a poor earthing point. Try taking a spare length of wire straight back to battery -ve

Wiring at the controller has to be as follows:

RED: PERMANENT, unswitched live...on whether ignition is on, or off.
ORANGE: switched live, only live when ign is on second click, NOT live when it's on first click.... (second click, all dash warning lights are on, but engine not yet started).
WHITE, sometimes YELLOW: lighting live, live when sidelights are on.
BLACK: decent earth.

A good circuit tester is needed to check that each wire is what you think it is.

I will assume by that response that you don't have the controller for them? It's a small (ish) black box with circular control buttons on the front. You'd know if you have one or not. Without out, the gauges won't work whatsoever.

I have got the complete set up controller gauge the wiring it's a complete sti genome set up that I bought from here and I've had the car in the garage to have it fitted properly and nothing works so I'm guessing along with the garage that the box is faulty

Might be, so long as the wiring checks out? Does it?

TBH, "garage" doesn't fill me with joy as regards electrics........

And are the gauges plugged into the correct outlet on the rear of the control box? There are two...only one works.
