Hi guys, what sort of discount % wise can you negotiate from a Franchise dealer for a 2nd hand car when you are a cash buyer with no px. Cheers vince

 

No set amount, all depends on the dealer, salesman, time of day, If it's a part ex'd car they want shut of..and how cheeky you can be IMO,

 

My hawk sti had a sticker price of 14,995 If I remember correctly, went with cash in the bank and transferred 12,500 :-) about 3 years ago tho :-)

 

Most places, these days, nowt.

esp Franchised Dealers.

 

Cash buyer
Is no good to a dealer as they cant make any money out of finance and gap and extended warrenty built into the variable finance deals

No px no advantage again as they want a car they can turn into a 2.5 ££ mark up

Dealers normally put 2-£2.5k mark up onto a car to allow for new tyres ,dents ,wheel marks amd a new service and warrenty etc

If they want shot of a car if it's a bad colour or they have had it on their forecourt over three months as they mark down £300 -£500 per month if it hadn't gone
You might get a discount maybe a few hundred if your lucky but your not really an ideal customer but if you go with evidence of silmilar cars at other dealerships they might knock a bit more off
