Default Ticking noise?

Hi, I've had a turbo2000 for a while now, for a couple of months it's been making a strange sort of ticking noise, sounds like the gearbox as it doesn't make the noise when I'm stationary giving it some revs, only when I'm moving. It's very faint but every now and then is louder and sometimes completely stops for a day or so. If I push the gear in it seems to get louder, say if I'm in third and push the gear stick forward more it increases the volume of the sound.

Anyone have any idea why it would be doing this? Box works fine still every gear

Thanks for any help

I am no expert but next time you are driving open the window and stick your head out and see if you can hear the noise. Odds on it is the hub and wheel bearing ..

I am sure some expert will be along soon to diagnose it far better than me

Yeah I can definitely hear it from outside the car too. There was a time when it got really really loud, then went over a speed bump sounded like a stone dislodged and now it's back to normal level of sound lol

Default Ticking noise?

Mine did that on rotation and diagnosed as wheel bearing hence my "expert" diagnosis

Any way of finding out if it is a bearing? i know i have a rear one being slightly noisey but they don't wobble until its dire don't they? Just thinking did yours do it when the gear was pushed further in? Seems to make me think it must be to do with the box but it all works fine still so strange that it would make this odd noise

Could be a CV joint or a wheel bearing. Jack it up and have a look around.

Are you sure it's not a nail or a bolt stuck in the tyre? I've had that plenty of times before. You hear a tapping every time the nail touches the road and
It obviously becomes more frequent the faster you get.
