I'm gonna get one cos Me JPI Back Box is the business, but i've got used to it (It still makes me smile though )

I can think of Three reasons:

1) Frees up the engine, thus reducing "bogging" and Turbo lag
2) Makes the car sound the business on run off aswell as under power
3) Gives me something to talk about at Scooby meets

I'm after another 7 reasons to spend me cash on this particular mod and i guess....... i'd like you chaps......... to comfort me in my time of indescision

So any 7 reasons will do and no doubt there will be many more so over to you.....

Cheers in advance

Cool

Cos you've got more money than sense

It'll draw the attention away from your Subaru sunstrip (when you get it!)

Are these meant to be constructive?

Cool

You'll need a centre section to match the downpipe you'll be buying about a week later

Nah not too serious just a bit of creative fun, It would be nice to hear a few arguments for getting a centre section that I couldn't possibly dream up myself.

More money than sense....Pauper

Also, just cos I do more than FOUR(4) yes just 4 miles a day, means that my car already recieves alot of attention (In the right way) The scooby sticker will look the dogs, you know it will and just cos you don't wanna spend £7 on one don't mean that they suck. Next time you see Mr Burns doin his stuff, check out what he's got across the top of his windscreen. Just a thought

Now then, Back to centre sections

Go right ahead - kill the turbo

What has it ever done to you? the Turbo NEEDS the back pressure to remain reliable!!

This is one reason not many people will go within 10 miles of a modified Impreza!! and why prices of these cars are on the floor

LONG LIVE THE UK UN_MODIFIED IMPREZA!!!

Question

I just ordered a Magnex de-cat centre to go with my STi backbox, going on the previous comment - is this not such a good idea?

Laurence - ignore Pete - we usually do (no offence Pete )

Many Jap Imports / P1s / STIs don't have the centre cat anyway - it was an extra one introduced to meet the strict emissions laws in parts of Europe. I've been running my UK Turbo pretty much since new with Magnex BB and mid section (with the resonator) - 25000 miles with no ill effects.

Go on then blow your engine!!

I really dont know - what I DO know is that Subaru would not choke an engine if it didnt need to, if it was to meet the noise emissions then everything else will be arranged to suit that case.

Yes, I am local to you - yes I am a big bu66er too .... but I am a gentle little cuddly bear!

One of the price guides gets near to what I am saying, it says, 'Only the modified Imprezas need to be avoided as they can be unreliable' or words to that effect

Well there's modified and modified isn't there? (did that sentence make sense? - I didn't think so ). There's degrees of modification - chipping your car to silly horsepowers without changing some engine components would be suicidal and I would guess make your car potentially unreliable. I'm not sure that changing bits of the exhaust would fall into that category - but I take your point Pete

Phil - it certainly makes the car louder, but nowhere near the levels of say, a full Scoobysport system. The centre section with resonator keeps the noise at a sensible level (mine is an everyday car, doing a 50 mile round trip commute). If you want a more 'full-on' sound, go for the SS centre, which is just a pipe with no resonator.

Cheers

Think I'm going with the consensus. After all considering that I'm doing no more really than an STi or P1 (ie de-cat centre pipe) and that my backbox is still a bit restrictive it can't cause that much of a problem can it ? ?

Pete, if it blows I'll give you a free 'I told you so', Ok?

So then Mr Lewis, how on earth do this get through the test process for the Prodrive Performance Pack, a Subaru approved mod?

You are just as likely to blow up your turbo by fitting clear indicators.

Cheers chaps, I is gonna do it.

Just a quick footnote, PSLewis.....get a bloody life will ya.

I've only been on this BBS for a few months and every bloody time you post a comment, it's about how hard done by you have been with your scoob, or how someone elses idea is lame or "not what you'd do".

If you're that worried about resale prices of ya scoob, flog it now and use the Fcukin' bus. Don't you dare try and blame me and alot of like minded individuals for the fall in resale values....TOSSER.

Don't bother replying with a typical smart post either, everyone has heard them before and don't believe you anyway.

You wind a hell of a lot of people up with your so called IMHO comments, you wanna think before you type and maybe you could get your points across without coming across as a prat.

I will meet you one day, it's bound to happen, and just for the record I would say all of this to your face. I don't like conflict but I feel that if someone is out of line, then they should be told.

One last thing, you are involved with a high percentage of the threads (Usually trying to belittle someone) do you just spend all day and night looking for a post that you can **** up?

This view that I have is not just my view, bear that in mind before you start talking drivvel on any of my threads again!

to everyone else who contributed humour and constructive points to consider, cheers
