Question

Any suggestions for back seat/rear facing baby seats for MY99 ? The most convenient I've seen by far is the graco model with a separate base - the carrycot thing itself just clicks in once the base is attached, but is far too upright, despite being listed as compatible by the manufacturer. Anyone else tried this one ?

Cheers,
Dan

Get yourself a copy of this months Which magazine they have just done a review of car seats and it looks bad. Reading the review you can see that most seats are a waste of time for safety. There is another review on the aa's website.

Thumbs up

We had a Mamma and Pappas travel system (push-chair and car seat). The seat either clicks into the base which is left in the car or onto the push chair. It's this one.

Cool

I had the Silver Cross travel system and now I have a Recaro for Steven.

The only downside to the Recaro is Steven can get out of it too easily and I have to have him in the front with me. It is a fairly high seat and even in the handbook it says that it is ok even if there is an airbag in the front. I don't pull the seat too far forward though.

We've got the same as Nimbus - a Mamas & Papas travel system seat. Base stays in place and you just click the seat in and put the chest strap around the seat. Base is held in by the lap belt so is easily removed.
