Easy.

Tear off two strips of masking tape, place on windscreen, one in contact with upper edge of each wiper, so as to return them to the original position.

Flip up the covers at the pivots, and undo each nut in turn, I THINK they are 17mm.

Once the nuts are undone, the arms lift off. They MAY need a little persuasion, sometimes they come easier if the wiper arm is lifted into it's "off the screen" position.

Check how the wiper blades fit before removal, and make sure each plade goes back on it's own arm.

Replacement is a reverse of the above, set each arm to it's masking tape mark before tightening the nuts...securely but don't overtighten.

HTH.

As above, except without the "remove" or "replace" bit.

Thanks for that. Will be giving this a go when I'm next on holiday from work.

I bought a set of corrosion free but faded wipers from the breakers on here (matty @ mb developements), rubbed down, etch primed and sprayed satin black. Far better than trying to clean-up the alloy oxidisation around the hinge that will probably come back anyway.

I had mine professionally nylon-coated satin black. Look like new and are more resistant to scratching than if they were painted.

Exactly this. I have a roll of masking paper, quick mask round/under the wipers and then a quick wiz with the wire brush on the grinder, puff in with satin black aerosol. Literally five mins work

At a local coaters in Leic. I'll post up their address in a bit... Can't even remember the company's name lol.

They fully strip the arms of all paint, corrosion and apply a rust remedy, before sanding them down (if necessary), then nylon coat them. Think it was about £40 for all three (JDM with rear wiper) to be done.

Tip: before you hand them over, plug the thread holes up with plastic glue from a glue gun, or some Blu-tac or similar. That way, you won't have trouble with the nylon covering the splines and making it difficult to get them to re-mesh with the wiper spindles (after obviously pushing the plug back out).

They do like nice, but mine's a 2006 so don't think they would fit.
