I don't think it's "haters" - more just factual accounts of these crooks. Let's be fair, not 3 posts down there's a very clear stripping down of a car they're selling by knowledgeable members as being in a front end smash and covered up.

https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-general-1/1021269-anyone-know-this-car-or-last-owner.html

Clive's performance, c performance, Cheshire performanxe, crooks I'm afraid - anyone who even contemplates buying a car off them with the hundreds of posts online about them are off their heads.

Yes I did think that too! Will be colour coding the grille definitely. I have spoken to bloke at clives performance twice and to be honest he seems fine. I have seen the bad rep and the whole Cheshire performance thing. Going to take a block tester with me and a few tools and a decent torch and spend a couple of hours going through it front to back. If you buy the right car you only have to speak to the salesman once right?

I did speak to clinic, they say they write hand made invoices so may e-mail a picture to them. It's quite recognisable so hopefully they will remember it. I'm confident I will find any problems. I'm a technician of 12 years, and my firm owns 3 imprezas for the track, I may not know what spats are orginal for each model year bit have plenty of experience on the boxer lump. And my friend is in the bodywork game for 10 years and can spot a repair from 100ft! Honestly I don't know how he does it!! I may go down the 22b arch kit route anyway so who knows...

Prob not telling you something you dont already know but there are plenty that come up for sale if you wait for the right car, so any hesitation then just walk away.

Front mount clearly visible but not mentioned in the text

With only 30k on the clock...the engine has already been apart to install ACL bearings...

If that type r has done 30k miles I'll eat my own arsehole. Look at the gearstick gaitor lol. My last two Imprezas have done fully documented mileages of 80k and 73k and the gearstick gaiters look almost perfect. I have a good idea who the seller is, been selling on ebay for years using the same English and large font with blue and red 'touches'

I'd be interested to see the engine bay as it looks more like a V4 with a later boot decal. But then I'd hazard a guess the engine bay picture might point nearer 130k miles than 30k lol.

It says V5, yet it has V4 seats and grill, the 'v5 rear spoiler' is a replica one.

Obviously it could be a V5, but why has it got a V4 grill, interior and not have it's original rear spoiler?

£10k for that? From them?

Are you ****ing nuts?

Completely your decision but nothing seems right about that car, bodywork wise. It has obviously has a face lift front end fit and a P1 style splitter but it just doesn't look well finished from the pictures. And the grill isn't painted.

And yes, it's a v3 as far as I can tell.

Run a ****ing mile!

As it happens no I'm not, it's not 10k when you by through trade, and what's the issue, with a later front end?? Why do later bonnets sell for more than early bonnets? Surely because there is more demand because they look better? I will be able to check the chassis legs and front panel for signs of an accident. Having worked in a bodyshop I will be able to see, and if it has been repaired properly and fits properly what's the issue? My friend hand a uk turbo with black mirrors and guess what he had them colour coded. The gearbox conversion alone is worth 3000 just in parts. And how many people have personally had an issue with this garage? If people buy a lemon it's their fault. I'm not being arsey honestly just don't get what people's issues are sometimes.

A 6 speed conversion will not cost 3k in parts unless you're naive and gullible, the base model is a version 3 for that its a little over priced as a complete package at £10k.

Before you reply to me, I will say I sold a v5 type r with 666bhp modded top to bottom for £15k on here a couple of years ago and the spec was far far superior to this.

For 10k I would nt be happy with a proper repair I'd want non accident complete original.

That v3 does nt sit right to me maybe the way it's parked.

The rear lower side quarter stickers are missing pointing to rear wing repairs

But pics can be deceiving hope it looks Lush in the flesh.

center console is what gives it away,

1996 v3 - sweeps up in a smooth curve in one section

v5 - two visible sections with a split line

Fine. Buy it. As I said, completely up to you.
I just don't like the facelifted parts being on a pre face list car. Not original in other words.

And they have gained a bad reputation for a reason. I will not be surprised when you come back on here after viewing stating what a dog it was. Everyone does!
