Default Ecu issue

Hi everyone
I have a slight problem.
I recently purchased a v5/v6 ecu of eBay for my MY99 v5 that has supposedly been ecutek remapped but it will not fire the car up?
My car fires up an runs fine on the original E3 and on my Y7.

When I try an start it with the remapped ecu all it does is make my Abs light flash irraticly an make my oil pressure light occasionally flash?

The code on the ecu is F6 which is a forester ecu but the seller assures me it's an impreza ecu board and fully working?

Does anyone have any idears?

Many thankies

If you have bought a JDM ECU for a UK spec car it will not work.

ECU's are normally model specific. Perhaps asking advice before you buy may save heartache and being done dry.

The only diffrence between import an eu spec are cam and crank senser feeds need to be swapped round. That still doesn't explain the abs light?

Which means they don't work and are not the same. Especially buying crap from eBay.

Is your car a UK or JDM car?

Exactly, also there is an immobiliser feed to the ecu as well in a UK car.
But even if you made it work the std rom file is not compatible ... it will not run the car safely

Take the cover off and post a car pic of the circuit board, there are obviously differences between a JDM and UK board

The only writing on the board is
A19-001 DS4
My car is a uk v5. The fuel pump does kick in but that's it

The ecu was supposedly mapped for a vf28 and a sports cat
So can't imagine it would be a import ecu but anything is possible
