You say 132mph verified, and how exactly was this verified? As for me, I have seen a tad over 155mph on the clock on my 92 UK legacy estate, on a flat ( private of course ) motorway while a mate was trying ( and failing miserably )to keep up in his escort cossie. Who knows if its in any way accurate, we might have only been doing 70mph for all we know.....
From memory I think It was just shy of 6500rpm in 5th.

Managed 150 legally, but had to stamp on brakes straight away!

MY01, WRSport BB and Blue springs [made all the difference]

The MY99/00 UK at least has a 147 mph soft boost drop speed limiter. This includes PPP. This is based on the speed sensor input to the ECU which overreads anyway.

Cool

I'm quite interested to hear what speeds folks have had their pride and joy up to, and whether peeps can confirm a top speed for their particular marque.

All speeds performed legally off the uk roads of course.....

I'll start with a verified top speed of 132mph in a factory standard MY00 Scooby Sport slightly downhill, A/C off, dipped headlights, following wind (you get the picture) on a rather accomodating stretch of German tarmac.

I guess people could chip in official 0-60 sprint times if they know them - I've never been timed so can't offer any.

IT.

Indicated 145mph on M621... showcase to football ground

Empty road... Now banned (unrelated.. so dont right care!) and I backed off... car was still going... 4 Up... slightly downhill + Crap Speedo.... 135 Maybe??

Gave up because my **** went.. and the road opens up at that point + Junctions... = irresponsible... (not that, that speed isnt!)

IIRC it's a bit more than slightly downhill at that point David.

What marque was that? - Standard turbo?

.. and yes, it is more than a slight downhill :-)

It's more like a 'sweeping bend'...!

Indicated 155mph on M69, one up, no AC, lights off. Would suspect with speedo error around 145?? MY01 WRX, 10k on clock, only performance mod is WRsport back box. Does it make any difference that it is blue??

Its not that Bad..

Have you tried accelerating hard around that sweeping bend

Not standard 5dr turbo... Was then running HKS Hiper Exhaust, HKS Racing Suction kit, 4pots and braided lines.. now getting more work done... see DIY FMIC thread in Drivetrain.... Ecu Mods, porting polishing, water spray, water injection, uprated fuel pumps, pressure reg, fuel rails, uprated boost, modified turbo, fmic, modified inlet, new exhaust.... lots still to do...

Aiming for 400 bhp... (Yeah right!)

We had an indicated 155 in our totally standard MY00, two up with a load of luggage in the back, on a nice long, flat, straight section of Autobahn. It wasn't up to the rev limiter, but just wouldn't go any faster.

Cool

At last years Redline Records day i hit 149.9 MPH bouncing off the rev limiter (speedo was showing 160).

0-60 was 4.6 0-100 was 11.56 1/4 mile was 13.29 (with smelly clutch). Best 1/4 mile of 12.92 with new ap clutch so above times probably a bit quicker.

Oh by the way never go above 70mph on the road.

Mel.

Saw an indicated 155+ mph in a standard, but well run in, MY99 turbo.

Was still accelerating (albeit slowly) when prudence dictated I back off...

Cool

Had indicated 152mph on flat part of bucks, uk, with no wind. Rev counter showed 7,500 and car wouldn't go any faster. The downside of the close ratio gearing I guess ?? At least it acelerates quickly !!

MY98 WRX Type R V-Ltd

Sonic Blue of course !!

Indicated 140mph. so probably a real 130 I would guess, not bad for a car with 225bhp and 214 ft/lbs torque.
