seems to be almost nothing about for sale in the uk already

 

Have you tried hurst cars. I notice the stock changes often. I keep getting tempted to making a trip, but funds aren't always around. I don't know what they are like, but can't say I heard/seen any bad reviews - Sure some others might be able to shed some light though.

Its actually the first place i tried.. they had the perfect car and ive heard nothing but good reviews..when contacted they sold the car unfortunately but just dont keep the website up to date only pistonheads. I asked about future cars to which they replied and said that they would have more coming up soon which was a bit vague as hes in the market to buy now. Been trawling the internet most days.

Try torque GT or or JM Imports, they are one of the top places for importing cars and have a
always heard good things about them. I have spoken to both and they are friendly and helpful when I was looking for an import.

 

I used SVA imports in Dover for my Evo and highly recommend them

 

Import prices seem quite high atm your best bet is get one that's been over here a while.

I've heard a few bad things about sva.

 

I've bought a couple cars from torque gt no complaints from me good importer

 

I think there were a few negative comments about customer service a few years back, but they sorted that out quite a while ago.

I know several people who have used them, and all the cars have been fantastic quality (mine included)

I'd defiantly use them again

 

I read a few bad things about cars from sva too. I suppose hit and miss but would not take my chances.

Got an Sti through their import service a couple years back. After having the car home a few days I noticed the exhaust started blowing. Checked this out and it was blowing in three places looked quickly repaired with paste to get through MoT and was missing the donut gasket also. I then noticed when under the car all 4 brake hoses were loose at the struts, this would have been an Mot failure straight away. They also said they serviced the car when they never and they never converted to full UK spec like they said they would.

Phones them up over these issues and there not interested, warranty was a joke also. They have there Facebook fan boys and the Honda clubs love these guys but their sneaky, and will cut corners to make more money for themselves and let you pay the repairs!

If you buy off them make sure you put the car up on ramps first and give it a good check over. I was in a rush that day to get home, so partly my fault for not checking the car properly first before paying the final payment!

Oh I have only ever read good things about them. Best dealers in the UK.

 

Maybe things have changed now i used Torque gt where great ,changed F and B pads only advisery on M O T i ask for service they took it to Subaru garage to get it done

CAA Chubu 18/02/15 2004 STI 90,000 kms grade 4. Sold "hammer price" 963,000 Yen (£5379) That would be around £10,000 OTR in the UK.

Sorry to jump into this with a noob question but how does the whole import process work? You contact the dealer of your choice and tell them how much you wish to spend and they search and import the car? or do they regularly import them and you just go and purchase one?

Sounds like good stuff, I was perusing their web site yesterday, and I'm sorely tempted by an older Evo to replace the 530...

Also make sure the car comes with a bimta check which verifies its mileage and history. This is like a HPI check from china, japan etc.

The importer should provide this. If you were to do it yourself, its can take 3-4 days or maybe even longer and costs around £60.00 if remember correctly.
