The only way is to take it out. You can get a tray that fits instead off an import.

Or you could just unplug it however the plug is way inside the dash and it will cause the airbag light to be on which will fail an MOT. Put the child seat in the back?

Is there not a switch that you can use to disable it, there normally fitted for this reason?

Disconnect at the plug and put a resistor in the end of the plug usually about 3.3 ohms does the job. No airbag no airbag light.

FFS are you serious? How many years would that get in nick if an accident occurred. It's fitted for a reason.

If you care about a child then look after it and put it in the back.

You always get the odd few on all forums!

There is a logical reason why I might need to put the child seat in the front at times, a simple yes or no would have been a good answer.
As previous cars have had a switch fitted where I can switch it off, and my last car had it done from a main dealer.
Coming up with stupid stuff like "if I care about my child, put it in the back"
Or "better than a dead child"
If you can read, that's the whole point of me asking!!
My child's safety!!!
Those of you who did give a answer on a serious note, thanks for your input.
