What exactly are the mechanical differences between the Type UK and JDM STi 7 models. Talking about the std JDM GL, not Type RA etc.

JDM 276 bhp v. UK 260 bhp

UK has less torque as well

JDM rear wiper - uk ??

JDM minimal undercoating v. UK undercoating

JDM and UK have different STI badging on grill and rear of car

JDM and UK must have different fuel maps for 97 RON uk v. 100 RON JDM

sure there are many more but my head hurts right now

UK sti comes with RAC trackstar as standard. JDM doesn't

I am also led to believe that the Uk car has multi-point injectors for better/more efficient fuel burning. Not a performeance point more for european emmissions.

Also the UK car has an extra cat in the centre section.

Will post more as I remember them. My head hurts too.

ps Razor2001 the cars coming in 4 days I can't wait all those extras Ummmmm.

 

I was interested in the engine differences which lead to the differing power/torque outputs.....i.e. is this just all down to the ECU mapping and exhaust etc ?

I think it is down to: fuel map & timing/advance diff for lower RON fuel, diff exhaust for emissions (extra cat)....think that may be it. I heard the same about the injector spray patterns as well....basically the UK one is better for emissions with its spray pattern vs. the JDMS'.

JDM has Auto IC Water spray - UK, only manual

JDM black rear windows - UK, very plain indeed (unless you pimp tint like me )
