Side lights?

Let's be sure we are calling them the same name here.

The sides are the plastic lenses at the outer edges of the headlights? yes?

if so, when you switch the lights on, you get those first click, then dip (or main) second click?

Pushing the dip stalk away from you, or pulling back towards puts on main, or dip?

Are we OK so far?

So what's yours doing you think it shouldn't?

Yeah the side of the headlights, I thought they were parking lights and controlled via the switch on top of the steering column, but they are staying on for dipped beam

They are on all the time when lights are on and engine running.
The switch on top of the steering column simply LEAVES them on when ignition is off...for parking.

Otherwise, ignition off= lights off...to save the battery.
