just to note though, intercooler in temp on a Subaru at WOT, that's post turbo, can range from 120c up to 180c depnding upon set-up and how hard the turbo is working, so a single nozzle spray will have little effect on those temps but will impact on heatsoak which is what it's designed for.

I think you'd be pissing in the wind with fans of that size, who knows though.
I most definitely felt the forces of heat soak last weekend - my first lap out of the pits was boggy as hell, at least until I got a few seconds on the straight and some airflow through the IC. I can imagine it's a horrid handicap for 1/4mile runners.
