After a bit more exposure than this is currently getting in General Technical....

http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=100231

Anyone got any experience of swopping from a MY00 802 ecu to a MY99 801 ecu?

Quick answers would be appreciated.

Cheers

Robin...

Doofus is having one of the two I have for exchange in for sale section. The other is still available.

It is not going to change your car into a dragster, but there are obvious performance differences, and is good VFM whether you Tek 1, swap it or buy one from a breakers if you are not planning a remap. The fuelling and ignition maps are considerably better, there is a considerably fatter torque curve.

Thumbs up

Check out this post. I've posted the differences on the first page about 1/2 way down.

I still have one available - I saved it from reprogramming. See for sale section.

The high octane ignition maps are the same. The low octane ignition map is retarded more on the MY00. The boost on part throttle is more on the MY99. The fuelling is less rich on the MY99.

I've got the Tek 1 and am well chuffed with it. Have a look here http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=99053
