Question

Hi all, i know that dawes products are well recieved, and that jamie is an all round good guy , but in comparison to lets say the autometer AFR is the dawes as good (i know its alot neater)... do i have to set it up for my car? and has anyone any pics of it fitted?

Cheers

Wouldn't mind knowing what people think myself. Mine should arrive next week (hopefully), cheers Jamie. I considered the autometer but it would mean a lot more messing about (gettin' rid of my a-pillar pod for a two gauge one) and i'm really only goin' to use the thing to set up my Dawes safely.

So what do people that actually have one think?

Tony.

Dawes AFM is a brilliant bit of kit. Just took mine off and sold it, as the car has gone now I would buy another though, but would like more lights on it Remember the Dawes AFM is tuned specifically for the Scooby and is well worth the money.

Oh and don't fit a Dawes or Boost controller without one. It could end in tears

Chris,

They are really neat and give you the confidence to increase the boost right upto fuel cut and beyond (with a fuel cut defeater)

Fitted mine inside the air vent in the middle of dash, and was invisible when the engine wasn't running. I needed to be able to hid from the dealers, when I had services, warranty work, etc Sorry can't post pictures, as the Scooby went back today To be replaced next week with a rather nice RB5 WR

Great idea on where to fit it Phill

I'm getting mine next week. Was it easy to fit there?

Piece of ****, four screws and a big tug on the centre pod (MY00) and away you go Your restricted by the wire lenghts. I cut a hole in the plastic and mounted it in the hole. Blue tack would be good for holding it in place.

Oh and no worries about being able to see the light, I'm sure you could illuminate the moon with the LEDs used. I'm getting a Defi centre pod and will take mine apart, and mount the LEDs into the front of the pod

Cheers Phill C

PS Gutted I did take a picture of it

Excellent cheers m8y.

I'll give it a shot as I don't really want the lights to be too obvious to anyone else but me.

Hi!

Thanks for your kind words!

Im absolutely sure that those of you who have yet to sample the delights of Dawes Device products will be more than happy when you get them!

The AFR is so simple, there is very little that can go wrong, also my stateside friend (Mr. Dawes) has tested them to be as accurate if not more so than any other AFR gauge or meter.

The real beauty of them is the fact that you are able to see your readings at a glance, how often have you been caught of guard whilst looking at something you shouldn't? (I'm talking about the boost gauge/radio etc, not the college bus-stop!)

Jamie

Jamie,

The wires could do with being another foot long, but understand that this may lower the voltage a little and read less accurate. I sold mine, then had to buy another for my RB5
