Default Why is a TD05 considerably quieter than a TD04?

Just gone from a TD04 running 1 bar to a TD05 running 1.5 bar and I can't even here the TD05 at any revs. The TDO4 was pretty whistly!

Anyone know the reason? Thinner shell? Quicker blades pick-up?

Aren't you the one who said you could hear some sti's turbo spooling from 300m away, but now you can't hear one on your own car.

Think you need your hearing checked.

I used to have a very noisy V12! 2 of them in fact.

It was 50 yards btw, a feat never beat! Some guy claimed he heard the Lateral Performance "Banana" spool up from 65 yards away at Elvington but it was never certified.

I am just guessing but maybe a smaller turbo is spinning faster to provide the required air, I used to have a td04 equipped wrx and now have a vf37 on my current car and think this cars turbo is quieter than my old one.

I think Diesels have similar sounding turbos to the TD04, pretty noisy from low revs.

So we are settling for it has to spin twice as fast to deliver similar boost levels?

So how do you certify this?

Audio readings from in the car based on the human hearing range.
