Hello all!

I know this was done a while back, but what's the quickest, most mechanically simple and effective way of immobilising my car (MY00) while its in the drive for a week with no-one at home?

Exclamation

Use the superlock feature of the standard CAT 1 alarm
Or hire a skip and park it outside of your garage(with your car inside obviously)

Hook your car up to the mains. If any car thief touches your car, they'll get a shock of their lives...

Wink

Remove the cam and crank sensors..

Grab a 10mm spanner and open the bonnet.. look to the front of the engine in the middle between the drive belts and there is a 10mm bolt holding in a sensor (has some wires coming out of it)
undo the bolt and lift it out.. disconnect from the plug and take it away with you.. clean it before replacing it and you never know the car might run better.
Cam sensor is identical to look at only on the top of the right hand side of the engine front.. below the oil filler..

You could remove all fuses except for the one the alarm is on.

Open the fuse box and remove each fuse one by one and bleep the alarm on and off inbetween to check it is still working (make sure you record which fuse goes where though.. although then if someone breaks in and tries to start it the alarm might not sound as no drain on the battery, but it is not going anywhere.

You could remove all the wheel nuts except the locking nut...
then if anyone moved it they'd get as far as the end of the drive... you'd have a small repair bill when you got back if that happened mind you.

Chain something big and heavy to one of the alloy wheels.. then it is obvious that it is not going anywhere before they start.

Buy a £20 car from the freeads and block your car in with it and then remove the wheels off the £20 car?

I would be worried about leaving my Scooby in the drive with no wheels as people might start thinking it is dumped or has had the wheels nicked so I'll nick the spoiler etc..

Cannot think of anything else... do you live in a really bad crime area or are you just being very precautious?

Ask if a scoobynetter/friend/family would mind you parking it on there drive?
