Just replaced the engine in my project wagon fired it up today runs ok but has a slight misfire then picks up.
The engine was running a month ago so is fine. But the actual wagon has not moved in over a year easily. had some fuel in it and I put an additional 10ltrs in about 2 weeks ago was just wondering if the fuel could be off causing the misfire. I pulled the line off and squirted some fuel in a bottle and it looks like pi$$ as in one of those really orange dehydrated pi$$ haha

I'd run it off boost for a few tankfuls and add good quality octane booster when you fill up in that time.

Keep an eye on all your fuel lines for any leaks or signs of wear.

 

In addition to degrade some say it drops roughly 1 Ron in about 4-6 weeks

thing is you don't know how old the fuel is before you get it I normally leave no fuel in tank and put enough in when I need it as I don't trust it

 

The fuel in it must be about 20ron by now haha.
I poured a small amount into an old tin and it struggled to light at first with a naked flame, once it lit went out nigh on instantly.

 

I have the same problem with my mowers. I now buy some stuff from a lawenmower centre, a fuel additive, mine is by Briggs and Stratton, it keeps the stuff fresh all winter. Costs £10 a bottle to buy, but you only put in about 10ml per litre.

Works too.
