I don't understand how you are saying mine isn't uk when it's first registered date was in the uk and hasn't even imported.
Model year 2005 are you sure its widetrack model.
Easiest visual clue is arch extensions over rear wheel.
I notice no pics of this in the ad.

Maybe coincidence or a crafty seller.

I give up, I don't know what you mean. It says registered in UK as it's first registration which to me is enough to class it as a UK car.

It could also be from Cyprus, M Y = model year.

I had an 04 WRX Cypriot import from MotorPoint in Derby, they also had STI imports as well as a WRI, that was at the end of december in 2003. I waited 3 months to register mine as it was so close to being an 04 I thought why not.

The only differences from a UK car were square boot lock and mine had the alloy front wishbones that wren't on the UK WRX but were on the UK STI, so bonus for me.

As others have said if you have the rear arch extensions and NO DCCD then yours IS a Euro import from one of the above mentioned countries.

Other than dccd what differences are in a uk spec ? And why does my V5 imply it is a UK version?

Euro spec will be the same minus dccd gearbox.
Dvla are useless at getting the v5 correct on imports.

Like I said previously it doesn't matter to me, but insurance wise - would they ever realise if the V5 implies UK etc?

Just to add as you seem unconvinced despite us knowledeagble folk tellng you what the differences are and what it is despite what it says on the log book.

P.S Mine was a UK WRX on the log book, but I knew it came from Cyprus and was £16500 when UK ones were £21/22000.

Not unconvinced anymore, just curious because I don't want to inform my insurance company wrong and get screwed over if I ever claim (hopefully never).

just ring them and ask, you 100% dont have a uk my05 sti, all info points to it being a euro import.
id ask the previous owner because the ad is trying to hide the fact its a non dccd version id say.

I wouldn't say the ad is trying to hide it, it clearly states it's not DCCD.

does it where??? id say its trying to pull a fast one. here is the original ad and nowhere does it state its an import or non dccd and worse still it states the bit highlighted in red. standard equipment on my05 sti is dccd too.

Sadly a change of circumstances means I have to say good bye..

Excellent condition, low mileage and well looked after 2005 WRX STI in the obsidian black pearl with matching black wheels with the all the standard kit AWD, A/C, P/S, Alarm/Immobiliser, Airbags, sports seats, electric windows etc..

I have made some sensible modifications and upgrades to the car with no expense spared that include:

Engine re-map by Martyn Jeffrey at Engine Tuner on rolling road with full report.

Complete Miltek exhaust system including sports cat

EXEDY uprated clutch with lightened fly wheel
(all from Aztec and only done 20,000 miles)

Xenon headlight upgrade (Aztec Performance dipped and main).

Forged drop links

Kenwood CD/USB head unit and door speakers with
Cerwin Vega amp and sub
2006 roof diffuser

New interior mats throughout

Included in the sale is the personalised WRC plate.
This car has been looked after with no expense spared and run only on Tesco 99 or Shell Ultimate fuel (No BP or cheap supermarket fuels), the oil has been changed every 6-8000 miles (used only Millers competition series or Fuchs Titan and HKS/Cosworth filters), the diff oils have been replace recently (Fuchs/Millers) and the tyres have always been rotated to protect the differentials. I also have a turbo timer that I have not fitted as the car has been warmed up and cooled down religiously regardless.

The car is 8 years old and unfortunately has some minor scratches and stone chips that come with being this age but otherwise there are no dents or rust anywhere on the body work.

Taxed and MOT'd until the end of March 2014
Had 4 new Eagle F1 tyres in February

Recent new brake pads all round

2 keys included

65,439 miles covered

Had a new cambelt, battery and nearside shocks at 40,000 miles.

The body work is excellent and it has no dents or repairs made to dents.

There are no mechanical issues and I have videos of the engine bay and the exhaust if people require them.

Still have documents for HPI/History check from when bought it

I am located on the Isle of Wight (don't get this confused with the Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey etc); yes we speak speak english, yes we are UK residents, yes our currency is sterling, The drive from London takes an hour and the ferry from Southampton (NOT Liverpool) takes 25 minutes.

now if it was me and id travelled that far to view a car im fully expecting to have dccd as implied in the ad id be rather angry.

Read the other comments where it's discussed and mentioned it's not DCCD.

This wasn't meant to turn into an abuse of the seller of the car

it was disclosed by someone else further down in the ad. not by the seller who also didnt disclose it being an import.

no abuse here just stating the facts of the ad as i see it, it may be a genuine error but it may be aimed at selling something to the unaware like yourself.

question is would you have bought it knowing all the facts??? im pretty sure most probably would consider something else.

Yeah I would have still purchased it. DCCD doesn't matter to me. I will ring insurance company and inform them it's an import then.

by bother you i dont mean having dccd i mean the resale value being lower and less desirable to buyers due to it being a non dccd and an import and possible insurance implications although i dont think there will be any.

I have no intention to sell my subaru at all, I finally got in a position to buy one to keep, so resale isn't an issue.
