Dccd

Looking at getting a widetrack blobeye sti.
Seen a few I like but some DCCD fitted . But I seen 2 that don't have it fitted & these were 2005 models.

Can someone clear up what models had it fitted.
Thanks

53 10 March 2014 01:30 AM

Euro imports didn't have DCCD in some cases :) All MY05+ standard STi models UK and JDM have DCCD :)

Gryphon 10 March 2014 01:46 AM

Hi 53 & thanks for the reply.
I have seen really nice 05 widetrack crystal grey sti for sale without the DCCD.

If it was a EU import what does that mean ?
How can I tell if it is a EU import ?
Also should this put me off buying ?
Is this the same as a Japanese import ?

Sorry for all the questions but really don't know much about imports.

Thanks again

I have a 2005 UK STI - what exactly is DCCD ?

birchy2010 10 March 2014 11:04 AM

Dont let it been an import put you off, Mine is a 05 without DCCD and is from Malta, Don't get it confused with a Jap Spec car though, It is essentially a UK car just without the DCCD box and controller.

birchy2010 10 March 2014 11:04 AM

Driver Controlled Centre Differential ;)

EssexJamie 10 March 2014 11:07 AM

DCCD is Driver Control Central Diff basically it's a diff that driver can control and adjust certain aspects of it.

Matt_STi 10 March 2014 11:11 AM

I don't think my STI has that? If it does then god knows where lol

EssexJamie 10 March 2014 11:24 AM

IiRC the buttons for it should be on centre console near handbrake, and then on your instrument cluster should show you the settings

Matt_STi 10 March 2014 11:32 AM

ah must not have it, there are blanks near my handbrake where the buttons must be.

EssexJamie 10 March 2014 11:35 AM

Must be a euro import then mate :thumb:

Edit: I'm assuming your 2005+

Matt_STi 10 March 2014 11:37 AM

Its a 2005 STI UK version

Did you buy it new, from a Subaru dealer?

Matt_STi 10 March 2014 11:58 AM

No, brought it off a guy on here!

urban 10 March 2014 12:22 PM

It can't be a UK model, it must be a Euro import.

Has it got the trackstar tracker?

Matt_STi 10 March 2014 12:29 PM

I don't know! I'm going to check the log book. I'm 99% sure its the UK model.

urban 10 March 2014 12:37 PM

Don't think the V5 will help.
I reckon its a Euro car.

Matt_STi 10 March 2014 12:42 PM

I'll check later and see if it says anywhere.

Gryphon 10 March 2014 12:45 PM

Are these euro imports under sealed from new?
Is it the exact same performance wise?

Seen one I like but with no DCCD so must be a euro import & the import bit is kinda putting me off.

EssexJamie 10 March 2014 12:51 PM

I wouldn't worry about it being a Euro import as long as it's right hand drive then all is good!
Some people wouldn't even know it's a Euro unless they know that 05's UK spec should have DCCD!

Matt_STi 10 March 2014 12:55 PM

Yeah I'm not worried, Its right hand drive, fast and looks the nuts! I'm just curious to see where its actually from!

My money's on Malta

Matt_STi 10 March 2014 01:36 PM

I'll check the VIN and compare it online later.

EssexJamie 10 March 2014 02:07 PM

90% it's Malta but as you say your happy and it's the seem engine as any other STI just no DCCD which isn't needed really be daily drivers, handy on track though!

Looks a very nice car from the for sale thread :thumb:

Matt_STi 10 March 2014 02:14 PM

If it is Malta - do my insurance company need to be informed? I currently have it as a non import (because thats what I thought!)

urban 10 March 2014 02:44 PM

Its still a UK spec'd car, so I presume you'll be OK.
Be different if it was a JDM import.

Matt_STi 10 March 2014 03:01 PM

Update: V5 says date of first registration 03 05 2005
Date of first registration in uk 03 05 2005

Plus the indicator stick is on the left so I'm sticking with UK.

W R X 10 March 2014 03:36 PM

There are a couple of 05 STI's on AT at the moment with no DCCD and I was wondering the same thing. Slightly misleading as one of them is described as "UK Spec" which it clearly isn't if all UK 05s had DCCD.

They both look like good examples mind.

urban 10 March 2014 06:11 PM

All UK MY05 STI's had DCCD.

It was actually introduced on the WR1 the year before.

Matt_STi 10 March 2014 06:20 PM

Another newb question: what's MY05? I always see people put it but never understood it.
I don't understand how you are saying mine isn't uk when it's first registered date was in the uk and hasn't even imported.
