Interesting response, Matty my attitude dropped after the failure from yourself to admit these were all stained, I got the general attitude "you expect new" No I did not, The pics you have posted of the flaps are all fuzzy and show no detail but armed with your so called reputation and description that they were in good condition I went ahead with the purchase, Your denial and reluctance are all here in black and white in the pm's you sent along with mine,. As for threats ? I threatened to drop them off in person to save my postage costs as I was in the area ? Sounds amazingly harsh to me pal, Mind I did call you a pr1ck from the tone of your responses and rightly so.

Fact is pal, If you did your job correctly this would not be getting discussed on here right now would it ?

The outside of four pots usually look good, its the backs and inside casting around the pistons that rot. Ive been looking for a set for months but havent seen one advert that shows pictures of the backs or close up detail.

Thank you to all our support and kind words there all appreciated

Micky I do apologise we do try our best to leave feed back in return some times were to busy to do it straight away and tend to do it in bulk when they build up this makes it much quicker to reply to them all but for some reason there is a set time scale in which you can reply and does not give you the quick option to leave feed back in return I'm not sure why there has to be this set time scale but I do think the feed back system needs a overhaul for everyone's advantage

Addi monster you can try and tone down pm replies all you want you know that they was meant in a threatening behaviour which really is uncalled for the items you know are used and by all means are not UN SELLABLE as you put it yes they have some stain From guessing from road tar but even if you buy new it's only going to be a matter of time before this happens to them also with our **** roads it's unavoidable as another member pointed out on earlier

I have come on here to sort any problem out and I do believe were the bigger man for doing so no other trader in question has done so you was given a partial refund over 50% of the parts cost if your still not happy then a FULL refund is still on offer once the parts are returned I cannot say any fairer than that and for me this is the end if the matter which ever way you choose to go

I hope the good people of the community can see we do everything we can to sort a problem and do not shy way from a problem with not replying or ignoring them that is not good conduct and anyone who does that shouldn't be allowed on here I do hope the other problems are sorted not just because of this name and shame thread but because it's the right thing to do all the best to all who are in this situation

Thank you

The calipers are shocking and not even fit to be re-sold IMO.
So the trader needs to look at himself for selling them there not a cosmetic part, that's actually dangerous selling them.

As for Matty another plus from me, he's always sent items quickly and well wrapped, I've bought a lot of him and if it wasn't for breakers for like him I wouldn't have some of the good 2nd hand parts I have now without paying a fortune. I always check his threads out for some bargains

Mad flaps are always going to get stained and marked they take a lot of crap from our roads so buying a set 2nd hand in never going to be ideal.
I bought a set of 2nd hand mud flaps of TubbyTommy and I've used them for winters and kept my good ones for summer but even my good ones have some tar staining on.

Although I do find chucking them in the dishwasher with extra salt works a treat (don't tell the wife haha)

From an overseas buyer point of view ive found Matty to be excellent, and someone id recommend with out hesitation, great communication and parts shipped straight away, you get what you pay for simple as.

Is this one of the things you're moaning about, the tiny little bit clearly missing off the corner of the I?

How come you're not going for the narrow white mudflaps on this one then, or the angel eye headlights?

The stains are the main issue, That's why Matty has accepted there was a problem and issued a part refund

The whole point of this thread is to buck the ideas up of these so called gods of the salvage world

I've used both Matty and scoobyspares at times......can't fault either of them. Never had a problem with parts from Matty. Had a rear diff that poo'd itself in 10 minutes from scoobyspares and within as week, another one arrived free of charge.

You cannot expect new because 99.9% of the time, you aren't paying anywhere near new prices. I've had some bits arrive from Scott that could do with a clean but to be honest, I'm more than capable of cleaning them and if he did it first, the cost would just go up for his time!

Good on you Matt to defend yourself.....have no quibbles from here!!

Hi Guys,
There is no point at all blaming the moderators. They cannot and will not look at every post on scoobynet and read it word for word to see if there are problems. Its a public forum and the onus is on the user to both research traders and investigate whether or not they should be risking spending money with them. Scoobynet is no different to any other website. Do you think you would have more luck on eBay? If so, use it.

The OP, Addi-monster has opened a topic to have a groan, and that is fine.. he has contacted the companies involved and seems to be trying to deal with the problem. He hasn't complained to me, or any moderator, so I fail to see why suddenly its our fault? its also posted in SN general so I have no idea why people are commenting that moderators and admin havent responded. Why would we have?

If a member complains to a moderator, we may try and help to resolve the issue, but expecting us to "Notice" someones had a problem in this months 3 million posts is a little shortsighted at best.

As Lisa rightfully says, if people used the itrader system, this problem would probably go away in a few months, but everyone who cant be bothered is adding to the problem. ebay is only as good as it is because it has a feedback system, without it you wouldn't be much better off than you are on Scoobynet or any other forum. I had the feature added for you, but I cant force you to use it.

The webteam are now discussing ways to highlight the way to use it in an effort to help that happen.

I note that Darren hasn't replied to this topic so will ask him to do so right away.

Right Stu, glad you cleared that one up.

Can we get icons for the profiles for GR hatches and saloons, and also the forthcoming STi please?

Im afraid the old plugin used on the legacy forum is no longer supported and last time we tried to add models to it it caused real forum problems so its unlikely to happen, sorry. However, that was quite some time ago so i will raise a ticket and ask if anything has changed with that issue of late.

After letting the K-SPORTS go I have had no option at the mo but to clean up the calipers and fit them for the time being,.

One side went on well (i'm far from a novice with the spanners) Came to the other side and whilst trying to tighten the 17mm bolts with a 17mm spanner the threads have pulled out of one of the calipers Yes i'm a big lad but come on ffs,,,,,, There's no way on earth should anyone be able to strip the threads with a normal 17mm spanner,, And no I did not cross thread it ,,,

Absolutely fed up

Has anyone got any NICE CLEAN 4 pots going, pm please

The trader im having issues is Darren which seems to be no surprise on here. Only been waiting for nearly 3 weeks for a refund. Blaming the bank are messing him about then saying he posted a cheque last thursday and then everyday saying he hasnt posted it yet. Today got a text in his writing pretending to be his dad saying that Darren has lied and hasnt posted me a cheque and that one has been sent and a email of proof. No proof.

Why is everyone only picking up on the least of his complaints ? The trader has came on and sorted it , but I'd be more worried about the other two.

No, it'd have been mine, but I spent HOURS reading up and asking questions over there before committing myself, as you say.

What gets me is Stu saying "would we have done any better on ebay?

The other day, I ordered a single 330mm length of 3/16" silver steel. When it arrived it was 1/8".

I contacted the seller through official channels.

Within an HOUR I had:

An apology and a promise it would be sorted from ebay.
An apology and a promise of a full refund from the seller.
The full refund.
Another message from ebay to tell me I'd been refunded, thank me for my patience and tell me the case would be closed unless I objected.

Now compare that with what IB do.........

To be fair eBay is a dedicated buying/selling site with (I'm assuming) a lot more PAID staff than IB does. This is a public forum with a relatively small trader section so you can't really expect it to run as smooth as eBay when there is an issue.

As Stu did say if you have a genuine problem raise it with Admin/Mods (I would PM personally) and they'll do their best to sort it out, which I've no doubt they would.

To all involved I hope everything gets sorted out to your satisfaction

MY personal take on the iTrader system ?

It sucks. I use it but boy is it a drawn out process and no way as easy as Ebay feedback. Most people look at the steps you have to do and then cant be bothered which is a shame because I am sure, used correctly, it is a useful benchmark of what people are like to deal with on SN. That said it can be misused as someone has already mentioned.

I think that there should be a better system in place or maybe have it as a requirement for those actual paid for traders that they have to complete their itrader forms by a certain time. I know that is a big ask as most of them are probably too busy selling but some gentle reminders could be used.
Same goes for people buying, the system is only useful, if this is all we are going to get, if it is used on a regular basis.

re this actual thread. I too have personal dealings with one of the traders listed on here and when I get the time I shall post up with pictures my experience. Lets just say it isn't a positive one

as blu said, eBay is totally different
apples and pairs.

don't expect that type of service from a free forum.
when you buy something always have some way off opening a dispute.

pay with paypal goods payment (not gift) or on your credit card
coming on here and having a moan might make you feel better but it isnt going to get your money back.

the forum (any forum in fact) wont general get involved in any of this.
when they should get involved is when there are repeat offenders. they should be delt with, irrelevant off any income they bring in to the site.

the main problem with the trader score that i can see is that its only one number next to there name
it would be better to show "+22 -2"
next to there name
that way its instantly obvious when someones got bad feedback. having 200 positive and 100 negative gives you a trader score of 100 dosnt it? which looks really good! when in reality that's an unacceptable level off bad feedback"
